*New! Snuggly kneehigh/long chunky recycled wool socks for winter, knitted in patterns inspired by traditional Swedish motifs.

Colours: Fästfolk Estelle & Esbjörn (orange base), Fästfolk Evelina & Ewald (yellow base)

One size: EU 34/37, 38/41

About the fit: Öjbro socks are jacquard-knitted: this is stranded colourwork characterised by floats on the inside which carry the coloured yarns and create such intricate patterns. This means each pair gets its own little personality. It also changes the thickness of the sock, and affects the fit. Some socks fit a bit slimmer, others a bit more “hug-friendly.” Wondering about the fit? See below:

Fit advice:

  • SLIM - fits like a gentle little foot hug. Patterns: Futhark, Lycksele
  • MED - the sweet-spot fit for most feet. Patterns: Ekshärad, Fästfolk, Gotland, Kören, Yggdrasil
  • GENEROUS - for those who like a bit of extra wiggle room for their toes. Patterns: Dalarna, Haga, Skaftö, Skogen.

How to put them on:
Because jacquard socks have floats on the inside, we recommend you put your socks on like your mum used to do for you when you were a child. Bunch them up to the toe, put your foot in place and then unravel the rest of the sock up your leg. Don’t try to just shove your whole foot in from the cuff as your toes might catch some of the floats!!

Brand: Öjbro Vantfabrik
Designed in: Sweden
Origin of Fibre: Recycled lambswool sourced in Sweden
Country of manufacture: Sweden
Fabric structure: Knitted from recycled lambswool with elastane, reinforced in toe and heel with polyamide (70% Wool, 5% Elastane, 25% Polyamide)
100% biodegradable: No
Machine Washable: Yes (see our guide to washing wool)

Care: Handwash using a gentle wool shampoo recommended for best results. To machine wash, choose a cold wool cycle, skipping the spin cycle. Dry flat on a towel, gently reshaping while wet. Do not tumble dry. Wool feels comfortable and dry, even when you sweat. It can absorb a lot of moisture (up to 33% of its dry weight). Air between uses, wash only when required.

The story of the Fästfolk pattern:
Engagements and betrothals have been part of human history for generations. In Swedish, a betrothed woman is called a fästmö, a betrothed man is a fästman, and together they used to be called fästfolk

The Fästfolk design depicts an engaged couple standing beneath an archway above a field of love hearts, watched over by a pair of reindeer. With this pattern, designer Åse Öjbro, founder of Öjbro Vantfabrik, has created a tribute to togetherness.

Carl Larsson gave his beloved Karin many affectionate and down-to-earth nicknames, such as "Blue Crow", "Markatta" (a playful but teasing term for a monkey), "Owl", and "Little Gnat". Karin answered just as tenderly: "Dear big oaf!", "Dear troubled soul!", "My own, dastardly handsome, beloved boy!" Their exchange of letters, filled with trust and respect, reveals a love that only deepened over the years. In Per I. Gedin’s collection of their correspondence, we can follow their lifelong love, from their first meeting at the artists’ colony in Grez-sur-Loing to their final years in Sundborn, Dalarna. Karin, who also designed textiles and furniture, wrote in an undated letter from 1883, "thank God I came up with the idea of getting engaged to you."

Being apart and longing for each other seems to have been part of the passion in Carl and Karin’s marriage. They moved between different homes and wrote several letters a week when they were separated. A letter from Carl in December 1885 reveals how deeply he missed her:

"You little rascal! How can you so wickedly delay your letters! Surely you understand that I am almost going mad with longing for you. Honestly, I would be happier if I didn’t love you so boundlessly, you little markatta. You wretched Örebro spawn, you mashed potatoes. You heartless Karin."

In Åse Öjbro's words, "I want to honour the duality and capture the wonderful feeling of being two. I find great inspiration in Carl and Karin Larsson and their lives. When you love, give everything you have, and when you reach the limit, give even more, and forget how much it hurts. Because in the end, it is only the love you have given and received that matters. Your partner has chosen to share their life with you, you give your days to each other. I dedicate this pattern to all current and future couples. Long live love and duality. Ted, I give you my life - the only one I have."

Quick, powerful, and easy to use
Style: 2 x 2.0Ah
When my wife and I bought our latest home, I got bitten by the battery-powered lawn equipment bug. Because our lawn is a lot smaller and flatter than our last home, I refrained from having landscapers regularly maintain this new lawn. This means I now have every piece of equipment one could possibly want to keep our yard looking beautiful Before purchasing this last item for our lawn, I was using a weed whacker to do the edging. This was tedious and not very precise. Because I have all Greenworks-branded equipment, this edger was a no-brainer. Even though most of our battery-operated lawn equipment uses 60v batteries, I opted for this smaller dual-battery setup to save a little weight and money. Because of the small battery sizes, the edger is perfectly balanced and not one bit unwieldy. I am able to quickly clear all of our sidewalk, lanai, and driveway surface edges within minutes. Up to this point, I had never used an edger before. It literally took less than 30 seconds to get it buzzing correctly along the surface edges of our property. If not trying to do a large commercial area, this edger will probably work for most residential applications. Quickly and easily.

It's a beast and you can add attachments to, like a brush cutter head.
Style: 16" (2 x 4Ah)
This thing is a beast of a battery powered machine. I wouldn't put it completely up against my gas. It is much better than the Greenworks 24V 13-Inch Brushless String Trimmer (Gen 2), 4.0Ah USB Battery and Charger Included that I had purchased this time last year. I have several gas so I only really needed a light duty one to do the fence line and around the house. The main issue with the 13 inch was that the auto feed bump mechanism was worthless. It also uses very thin lines so very quickly you go from 13 inches to 6 to 8. and the bump feed does not work even with greenworks replacement spools. You get twice the batteries and a dual rapid charger for $50 more. You couldn't even buy the battery for that much. onto this thing. Love the dual string heavy-duty string mechanism. Love the fact that you can remove the trimmer head and add an attachment. I have attachments from my gas Trimmers and they work perfectly. My brush head attachment utterly devastated thick bramble from an overgrown lot. The best part is it took me two hours to get my stored gas trimmers to run properly which I don't have to do with a battery operated device. No gas flying that deteriorated or primer bubbles that have burst followed spark plugs Stale gas . Just throw the batteries on and you're off. Nothing long-term to report, only had it a week. Used it enough to run down completely six sets of batteries.

Works well, but battery life is lacking
Style: 15" (2 x 2Ah)
This is a decent trimmer and gets the job done almost as well as a gas model. It has decent power (could use a little more) and is plenty light. However, the battery life stinks. One of the two batteries has already decided not to charge. It plugs in, but the charger does not blink or charge it. The terminals are clean. Of course, this happened just outside the return/support window, meaning I now have to buy a new battery just to use the trimmer. That's about half the price of the trimmer; if the other one dies, too, I may as well buy a brand new gas trimmer for the price and have the thing last for a decade or two like my last one, instead of a couple years like this one.

Overall very good product.
Style: 15" (2 x 2Ah)
I bought this trimmer as I had previously bought a Greenworks 24V MAX Cordless drill that uses the same battery. The batteries to buy them alone are over 50 dollars each and as this has two its a great value in that respect. I was tired of electric trimmers with cords or noisy gas powered ones that are hard to start. This so far has worked excellent. I have not had a problem with the trimmer cord breaking and having to re-wind it back onto the spool like some other trimmers I have used. It is not noisy and it is effective and easy to use. The only thing I would disagree on is it is advertised as having an Ultra lightweight design. It is not heavy or cumbersome to use but I would not call it ultra lightweight. Overall very good product.
