iPhone 8 Plus Rear Housing Replacement

Compatible models: A1864, A1897, A1898

The iPhone 8 Plus features a glass back housing that enables wireless charging, but this makes it more vulnerable to cracking after drops. We replace the entire rear housing assembly rather than attempting glass-only repairs, which ensures proper structural integrity, restores the IP67 water resistance seal, and maintains wireless charging functionality.

  • Turnaround: Same day where possible, subject to stock and workload
  • 12-month warranty on the fitted housing
  • Walk-in near Liverpool Street Station or use our UK mail-in service

Signs your iPhone 8 Plus housing needs replacing

  • Rear glass panel cracked, shattered or missing sections
  • Sharp edges making the device uncomfortable or unsafe to hold
  • Rear panel lifting or separating from the chassis after a drop
  • Concern about moisture or dust ingress following the crack — IP67 rating is compromised by rear glass damage
  • Wireless charging behaving intermittently or not working since the damage occurred
  • Camera lens cracked or damaged (often happens alongside housing damage)

What is included

  • Careful removal of the damaged rear housing assembly
  • Transfer of internal components (camera, flash, wireless charging coil) to the new housing
  • Fitting of the replacement rear housing with fresh adhesive seals
  • Post-repair wireless charging test to confirm charging pad recognition and alignment
  • Full function test: power, charging, Lightning connectivity, wireless charging, cameras, speakers
  • IP67 sealing verification — the housing replacement restores the water resistance seal
  • 12-month warranty on the fitted housing

How to confirm your model

Go to Settings > General > About > Model Number (tap it to reveal the A-number) or check the rear of the device.

This repair covers: A1864, A1897, A1898.

The iPhone 8 Plus uses a Lightning connector for charging. If you have moved to USB-C cables for newer devices, you will still need a Lightning cable for the iPhone 8 Plus.

Our repair process

  1. Book or drop in: Book online or visit us near Liverpool Street Station in London. Mail-in customers can post their device from anywhere in the UK.
  2. Assessment: We inspect the device and confirm the extent of housing damage before starting.
  3. Housing replacement: We transfer internal components to the new housing and reseal the device with fresh adhesive to restore the IP67 rating.
  4. Testing: We carry out a full post-repair check including wireless charging, cameras, speakers, Lightning port and water resistance seal verification.
  5. Collect or return post: Pick up in store or we will return your device securely by tracked post.

Why choose Square Repair?

  • Established repair centre near Liverpool Street since 2015
  • 12-month warranty on every housing replacement
  • Full component transfer — your camera, wireless charging coil and flash are preserved
  • IP67 water resistance seal restored with proper adhesive application
  • Post-repair testing of wireless charging and all functions before handover
  • No data loss — housing replacement is a hardware-only procedure
  • Transparent pricing with no hidden charges
  • Walk-in and UK mail-in options available

Before you book

  • If the device has been previously opened or repaired, we will check for any complications before starting
  • If there has been liquid exposure beyond minor splashes, we recommend a Water Damage Diagnosis first to assess internal damage
  • If the camera lens is cracked but the housing glass is intact, a camera lens replacement may be more appropriate
  • If wireless charging was not working before the housing damage occurred, this may be a separate fault that housing replacement will not resolve

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.
