This perch bench from Autopa offers a cost-effective and convenient seating solution for use in smoking shelters, bus shelters and walkways where pedestrians may need to stop and rest for a moment before carrying on with their busy day. The small footprint of this perch bench makes it perfect for areas with lots of foot traffic, as it takes up minimal space whilst still giving a place to get a moment's rest.

The bench is made from mild steel that has been fully hot dip galvanised, ensuring it will not corrode and look good for many years. The construction of the bench is simple, featuring two 48mm diameter bolt-down uprights and a single sturdy top beam, making it ultra-easy to install. The top beam also comes complete with plastic end caps to finish the installation off neatly.

The bench is available in two lengths, including 1000mm and 1500mm, allowing it to be installed in a range of different-sized shelters without looking too small or too big. As this bench is a bolt-down design, it must be installed onto a suitable hardstanding, such as an existing concrete surface. Each leg features three bolt holes for 12mm anchor bolts (available separately).

Excellent pre WW2 Churchill primer.
Format: Hardcover
This author has done an excellent job of explaining the role Churchill played in preparing Britain for WW2 despite being out of government for most of the 1930’s. The author is a curator and historian who has managed the collections at Chartwell, Churchill’s home during that time. Very well researched and easy to read. Anyone who studies 20th Century European history needs to read this book.

Book for Churchill fans
Format: Hardcover
Not an introduction to Churchill but fills out a period of his life that is often overlooked. Some fascinating insights into people who visited Chartwell. I really enjoyed this book, but it's not for everyone.

An excellent addition to the library of books about the life of Churchill.
Format: Hardcover
Excellent story of Churchill's years in the wilderness, warning of the growing threat of Nazi Germany from 1932 to the early of the war. Thoroughly researched and well written, given the complexities of what was going on contemporaneously.

Just like the PBS series....
Format: Hardcover
This book is a step, or two, deeper into the 'wilderness years' than the PBS series by the same name. But frankly, the series, available on YouTube, is a better buy (it's free) for the money and quite entertaining due to its great casting with folks like Robert Hardy, Sian Phillips, and Eric Porter. But, if you're a reader, this book is worth the effort and cost.

A great book about a great estate and the great man who inhabited it.
Format: Kindle
Carter does a superb job of accurately recounting the history of Chartwell and the people and events that made it such a special place.
