Mad Dog Wedge Skimboard 37″
The Mad Dog Wedge Skimboard 37″ is super fun. Skimboards catch waves right on the shore. Skimboards are not designed to paddle. the way they work is that you run on the sand then throw the board down when there’s a thin layer of water washed up over the sand. As the board is in motion you then run and jump on it. The board’s surface area and your speed keep you from sinking. The board glides at high speed almost on the sand where there’s barely any water, where you’d think it impossible to surf. As you become proficient you can skim from the shore out to the shore break and do big surfing turns on the waves using your skim speed.
Performance Design
The Mad Dog Wedge Skimboard is a great fat teardrop design so is perfect for skimming. The nose is tucked in so as to not catch. This is of critical importance when launching, throwing the board down on the sand. The tail has a bulb shape. This distributes your weight over the board giving more speed. The underside of the board has rolled rails. This keeps you skimming smoothly. The board has rocker, a gradual rise at the front and flip in the tail, so you get speed for tricks and spins while also helping prevent stacks.
The quality 5 ply wood construction uses hardwoods with waterproof glue so you get durability. The ply is specially manufactured giving you the right balance between stiffness and flex. The Mad Dog Wedge Skimboard is a great way to mix up your surfing and beach fun!
