The RTC420 is a dedicated 2K telephoto camera with true 4x optical zoom, purpose-built for the VIOFO A329 dash cam platform. Where standard wide-angle dash cams capture broad scenes, the RTC420 focuses on distant detail: license plates, street signs, traffic signals, and vehicle markings that are unreadable on wide-angle footage. Powered by a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor with HDR, it delivers sharp, evidence-grade recordings in all lighting conditions.
True 4x Optical Zoom — Not Digital Crop
Digital zoom merely crops and enlarges existing pixels, progressively destroying image quality. The RTC420 uses a physical optical zoom lens that captures distant subjects at the full 2K sensor resolution. License plates that appear as blurry smudges on wide-angle cameras become clearly legible with the RTC420. This is the same optical zoom technology proven in VIOFO's RTC300 for the A229 platform, now optimized for A329.
Compatible with A329T and A329TW Series
The RTC420 connects to the telephoto port on A329T and A329TW front units. Use it to upgrade a system that came without a telephoto camera, or as a direct replacement. The camera is plug-and-play — connect the cable, mount, and the front unit recognizes it immediately without firmware changes.
License Plate Capture for Evidence and Insurance
In hit-and-run incidents, road rage, and insurance disputes, readable license plate footage is often the single most valuable piece of evidence. The RTC420's narrow field of view and optical magnification are designed specifically for this purpose — capturing plate numbers at distances where no wide-angle camera can resolve them.
