Focusing on the US 29th Infantry Division-known as the "Blue and Gray"-this second volume in the Fighting Formations series follows their fierce engagements from the aftermath of D-Day in June 1944 through the closing months of that pivotal year.

In each scenario, players command detailed formations of the 29th or their adversaries, issuing orders to move, attack, or fulfill mission objectives across historically inspired battle maps. The game uses a dynamic initiative system, where each order costs initiative points from a shared pool, creating a tension-filled back-and-forth rhythm. The player with the most remaining initiative gains the advantage, making timing and resource management critical to success.
