Wewantsounds reissues Charles Kynard's 1972 cult classic Woga, recorded in Los Angeles for Mainstream Records and featuring top-tier musicians Chuck RaineyPaul HumphreyArthur Adams, and George Bohanon. Produced by Bob Shad, the album stands as one of the label's funkiest releases, showcasing Kynard's signature Hammond organ grooves. Woga is reissued here on vinyl for the first time since its original release, complete with its original gatefold artwork using first-generation session photos. This edition comes with newly remastered audio plus a two-page insert featuring new liner notes by Kevin Le Gendre. Charles Kynard, born in St. Louis in 1933, passed away relatively young at the age of 46 in 1979. Despite a short career, he left a lasting impression on the international jazz-funk scene with a string of soul-jazz classics, culminating with Woga. Kynard began his professional career in St. Louis before relocating to Los Angeles in the early '60s, where he started recording for the Pacific Jazz label. There, he worked with renowned musicians such as Howard RobertsSonny Stitt, and Buddy Collette, releasing his debut album for the label in 1963. In 1971, Kynard joined Bob Shad's Mainstream Records and recorded three highly sought-after albums for the label, including WogaWoga includes dynamic covers of contemporary soul hits such as Donny Hathaway's "Little Ghetto Boy," Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady," and the Staple Singers' "Name the Missing Word," alongside deep-cut originals like the fiery "Hot Sauce," the laid-back "Lime Twig," and the explosive nine-minute jam "Slop Jar," featuring standout solos by trombonist George Bohanon, guitarist Arthur Adams, and trumpeter Jerome Rusch. This reissue also includes the bonus track "Smiling Faces Sometimes", a rendition of the Motown psychedelic soul hit by The Undisputed Truth. Recorded during the original Woga sessions, the track briefly surfaced on a low-profile compilation two years later. It features none other than the legendary Carol Kaye on bass.

Works
Size: 8.5"x11"
Works great for sublimation. Get plenty of sheets. Great value for the price. The paper is pretty thick and seems to hold a good amount of ink without smearing.

My go-to sublimation paper for crafting
Size: 8.5"x11"
I've used several sublimation papers, and this one has worked really well for my crafting projects. The colors transfer bright and vibrant, and the images come out crisp with good detail when using the proper sublimation printer and ink. The paper feeds smoothly through my printer and feels like a good quality weight—not too thin and not overly thick. I've used it for tumblers, keychains, and other sublimation projects, and I've been happy with the results. I also appreciate getting 110 sheets in one pack because it lasts a while, especially when working on multiple projects at once. Overall, this is a reliable sublimation paper that gives consistent results and is great for crafters or small business owners.

Great product, quality colors and vibrant prints
Color: 1BK/1C/1Y/1M
Best Sublimation Ink I have found so far. Great size bottles for the price you pay. Lasts a long time and the colors print great and when you press the print the colors come out BEAUTIFUL and VIBRANT! Dries quickly after printing so no worries on smudging but even after sitting over a month on the paper still presses like you printed it that day!

I’ve been consistently purchasing this Hiipoo sublimation ink for my sublimation printers, and I’ve been extremely pleased with the results. The print quality is excellent, with vibrant colors and clean transfers every time. What I really appreciate is how true the final product turns out compared to my original designs. The colors stay accurate, and the finished results look exactly the way I intended, which is very important for my projects and products. This ink has been reliable and consistent, and I will definitely continue using it for my sublimation work.
