Frequently Asked Questions
How does the privacy filter work?
A microfilter layer in the glass blocks light at angles greater than ~30° from straight-on viewing. Your screen looks normal when you face it; from the side it appears dark. Useful in offices, planes, coffee shops, and public transport.
Will it dim the screen for me?
Slightly. Privacy filters reduce brightness by about 15-25% even when viewed head-on — the trade-off for the side-blocking effect. Crank brightness up one or two notches and you won't notice it indoors. In bright sunlight, the dimming is more apparent.
Does it work with Face ID?
Yes — the protector has cutouts for the Dynamic Island and sensor area. Face ID, proximity, and ambient light sensors all function normally.
Privacy vs standard Install Master — same install difficulty?
Same. Both use the same built-in alignment tool. The privacy version is just slightly thicker due to the filter layer, but install procedure is identical.
Does it block side viewing only horizontally, or both axes?
Both — horizontal and vertical side angles are blocked. The privacy effect works the same whether someone tries to peek from your left, right, above, or below.
