The parade of the smaller fish does strike a predation-like feel in this photo. Also an amazing capture are the shadows on the seafloor by the refraction of light from the surface of the water, with the lemon shark squarely in between.

Trevallies are never really in danger against the giants of the sea, even sharks. They are mostly travel companions, and the giants seem to like the idea of an entourage when they go from place to place. This photo is a great image showing the symbiosis of the 2 species.

This is a lemon shark cruising over the sand flats of the Nyinggulu reef, here is some fun facts about this species:

Lemon sharks get their name from their yellowish/brown skin colour which helps them camouflage in the sandy tropical waters they inhibit.

They have a flattened head and short snout which makes them a skill full predator of bony fish, crustaceans and stingrays.

The lemon shark’s retina is also equipped with a specialized horizontal band, or “visual streak,” that allows the shark to see fine detail and color when underwater.
