Here we have for sale a Fender Mustang Solid Body Electric Guitar, made in 1967 at the Fullerton factory in California with a Dakota red lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and sold with Non Original Hard Case.

This is a VERY well-played but original 1967 Fender Mustang, made less than three years after the model's debut in 1964. The Mustang was Fender's classiest student guitar, basically a Duo-Sonic with the new "Dynamic Vibrato" tailpiece and a floating bridge.

As one of the more affordable “genuine vintage Fender guitars” in the ’80s and ’90s, Mustangs were snapped up and hot-rodded by punk, grunge, indie-rock and alt-rock players who were in search of punchier, more powerful sounds than the original, fairly weak single-coil pickups could provide.

The features of the instrument are typical for this year. The body on sports a Dakota red lacquer finish with a lot of wear but not much fade. The pickguard is laminated plastic with a white pearloid top layer. It features a Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard, double cutaway body, white pickguard, two single coil pickups, two control knobs, two slider switches, Fender tuning machines, vibrato tremolo system, chrome Fender neckplate.
