The Whitechapel Gallery is uniquely placed in one of the most deprived boroughs in London, and many of our neighbourhood schools have seen most or all of their arts funding lost in recent years. We offer free artist-led workshops for local primary and secondary school children, giving them the opportunity to view, discuss, debate and create artwork inspired by the exhibitions on show. The Whitechapel Gallery is uniquely placed in one of the most deprived boroughs in London, and many of our neighbourhood schools have seen most or all of their arts funding lost in recent years. Supporting our workshops will help ensure these local children and young people have access to art and culture and transform
their lives in the process. We also support local art teachers through resources, workshops and peer-led events so that they can develop their practices, share insights with their students and to encourage repeat visits to the Gallery.
Each £500 donation will enable us to deliver one workshop for up to 60
local school children.
