Deep magenta in colour with a crimson hue. Dark cherries and plums are among the rich, ripe, red and purple fruits with a lovely balance of savoury, dried herb aromas. The palate is sweet fruited and full with distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon tannins. Y Series Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold and friendly wine that shows why Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world’s best known and enjoyed varieties.
Dry conditions during winter and spring were followed by warm weather in December. Careful irrigation management guided our vineyards through the growing season. In March, the temperature changed and proved remarkably mild with cool nights contributing to wonderful freshness and balance in our Cabernet grapes.
Y Series is a collection of iconic classics and exciting new varietals. Each wine is authentically crafted with fruit from South Australia’s most celebrated wine regions. At Yalumba, we believe that one good wine leads to another. Y Series was created with that belief in mind. We look forward to sharing our love of wine with you as you explore Y Series.
