This TR424L 42mm Series Pro-Stix Carbon-Fiber Tripod from ProMediaGear supports up to 125.0 lb, measures 26.3" when folded, and includes a tripod top plate with a 3/8"-16 mount. Each of its 4-section legs has a maximum diameter of 42mm. They also feature an independent spread, a 3-position angle lock, quarter-turn twist locks for rapid deployment, and a rubber foot to enhance stability on a wide variety of surfaces. Together, the three legs can be extended and spread to raise the tripod from a minimum height of 6.7" to a maximum height of 77.0". For use on soft and uneven soil, each of the rubber feet can be unscrewed to access a stow-away metal spike which can be fastened to the bottom of its corresponding foot.
Tripod heads, cameras, lenses, or sport optics that are compatible with a 3/8"-16 mount can be connected to the tripod's top plate, which is intended to be clamped onto the tripod's aluminum-alloy head. The head features a durable truss design that minimizes weight along with the carbon-fiber construction of the tripod legs. To further secure the top plate while in use and prevent it from accidentally sliding off when the tripod head's clamp is opened, the head also includes a cam lock with a push-button release.
Alternatively, a separately-available ProMediaGear TRBU75 75mm Tripod Leveling Base with a separately-available TRB75 75mm Tripod Bowl Insert can be installed within the aluminum-alloy head. A video tripod head that is directly compatible with the TRB75 tripod bowl insert or the TRBU75 tripod leveling base's 3/8"-16 mount can be used with the TR424L 42mm Series Pro-Stix Carbon-Fiber Tripod and oriented without adjusting the tripod's legs.
For direct attachment of accessories that feature 1/4"-20 mounts, the underside of the top plate is tapped with one 1/4"-20 female accessory thread. Four additional 1/4"-20 female accessory threads are distributed along the sides of the head, and two 1/4"-20 female accessory threads are positioned toward the top of each leg, one along each side of its connecting hinge. ProMediaGear accessories that incorporate a 1/4"-20 mount in between two anti-twist pins can be attached to either of the 1/4"-20 female accessory threads on each of the tripod legs, or to two of the 1/4"-20 accessory threads along the head. Alongside each of those eight 1/4"-20 accessory threads are pin slots that allow them to accommodate ProMediaGear accessories with anti-twist pins, or accessories with only a 1/4"-20 mount.
