Description:

Here we have a super rare 1980 Yamaha SG2000 Limited Blue from a very limited run of only 220 units. Built to serve the demands of fans of Japanese guitar legend Masayoshi Takanaka (later followed by various official signature models). Considered to be one of the rarest and most collectable iterations of the famed SG2000 with it's T-Cross Maple/Mahogany thru-neck construction and brass sustain block under the bridge, it delivers the sustaining tone desired by the likes of Masayoshi Takanaka, Carlos Santana, Al Di Meola and scores of others.

This one is overall in very good condition and plays like a dream! Body some minor surface marks, a couple small finish chips on the rear edge, and some minor separation of where the binding meets the body on the top edge (see photos for detail). Otherwise body is very clean. Neck is in excellent condition with no notable blemishes. Headstock shows some light marks on the edges and a fair amount of "Finish clouding" that is often seen on the Yamaha SG series. Otherwise headstock is in good condition with no major damage. Fretboard is in great shape and frets show some minor wear but have no issues with buzzing or dead spots and plenty of life left in them. Hardware is in great working order though the gold has faded in some spots. Electronics have been thoroughly cleaned and work perfectly. Overall a great playing and rare SG2000 that has one of the coolest blue finishes we've seen. Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. Includes Yamaha hard case.

From the web:

In 1980, the Yamaha SG2000 became synonymous with Japanese jazz-fusion guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka, specifically through the release of a Limited Edition Lagoon Blue model. While Takanaka had used various custom SGs since the late 1970s, the 1980 "Takanaka Spec" guitars are among the most collectible vintage Japanese instruments.

    • Model: Yamaha SG2000 Limited Edition.
    • Color: Lagoon Blue (often referred to as "Takanaka Blue").
    • Body: Mahogany with a carved maple top.
    • Neck: "T-Cross" three-piece laminated (maple/mahogany) neck-through construction for maximum stability and sustain.
    • Fretboard: Bound ebony with 22 frets and pearloid split-triangle inlays.
    • Sustain Plate: A signature brass block located under the bridge to increase resonance, a feature Takanaka favored.
    • Electronics: Two high-output humbuckers, 1980 models may include push/push coil taps on the tone pots for added versatility.
    • Hardware: All-gold hardware, including a heavy-duty bridge and "harp" tailpiece.

Great shoes for a casual day at the office. I have to size a half size down for Cole Haan usually. Comfortable and looks great with any fit.

Fit and comfort
Size: 12, Color: Ch British Tan/Ivory
These have to rate as equal to any shoes I've ever owned. I know everyone's foot is shaped differently but when I slipped my feet into these I was immediately sure I had made the correct choice. Sizing is true. You note, I'm sure, that these are slip-on shoes. My experience with slip-ons has been mixed as sometimes the heel tends to slip due to the maker leaving room for the slip-on function to take place. When I got these I discovered that the opening for my feet was so tight I needed to shoe-horn them in and it wasn't particularly easy. The heel counter was "high and tight" but once I got my feet in the shoes it was heaven. Then, after a couple of days wearing them I can now slip my feet into these slip-ons with ease and the shoes grip my feet like a lace-up shoe can do. I have one other pair of Cole Haans in the same size 12. They are also a wonderful fit for me. I highly recommend.
