The unit measures 24 inches in width by 36 inches in depth with bars that are 1-1/4 inches in diameter. The grab bars in the unit are made of 18-gauge, type-304 stainless steel that has an attractive satin finish and will show fewer fingerprints than a brightly polished surface. To secure the unit to the wall, mounting flanges that are made of stainless steel plates that are 1/8 of an inch thick are included in the design. The mounting screws that bolt the flanges to the wall are concealed by 22-gauge stainless steel covers that snap over the plates once the unit is installed. With proper installation 1-1/2 inches from the wall, the grab bar unit can support up to 900 pounds of weight.
