The City and the World by Gregor HensIn The City and the World, Gregor Hens explores the city in the twenty first century a space we shape and are shaped by in turn and our place within it. Travelling from Berlin to Las Vegas, Shenzhen to Santiago de Chile, he moves through these pulsing, ever expanding cityscapes, reading, walking, swimming, riding the metro and catching the bus, bearing witness to the strange vitality of urban life. Everywhere, catalysts for new understandings emerge.
In The City and the World, Gregor Hens explores the city in the twenty-first century – a space we shape and are shaped by in turn – and our place within it. Travelling from Berlin to Las Vegas, Shenzhen to Santiago de Chile, he moves through these pulsing, ever-expanding cityscapes, reading, walking, swimming, riding the metro and catching the bus, bearing witness to the strange vitality of urban life. Everywhere, catalysts for new understandings emerge. Pushing his young daughter’s pram turns Berlin upside-down. Students’ exercises in getting lost and reorienting themselves throw into question notions of centre and periphery. Google Maps becomes an unexpected gallery, offering new ways of encountering art and architecture. Buildings hold their own histories and secrets, illuminated by chroniclers of Hens’s cities, from Virginia Woolf and Georges Perec to Rem Koolhaas and Valeria Luiselli. Even libraries become cities in their own right. Blending memoir, travelogue and philosophy with photography and literary insights, The City and the World is a witty, captivating, illuminating and expansive journey into the heart of the modern city.,Binding: Paperback,

Unique

I was looking for something that wasn’t your basic Japanese style black and white cardboard room divider and this checked all my boxes. It looks very nice and stands out without being obnoxious.

Lovely room divider. However, product images did not show the back, which is bare. Let's a perfect amount of light through.

Beautiful Privacy
Color: 6 Panels Natural Wood, Size: 6 Panels
These are lovely screens. I have them in front of my big windows and deck door.
Privacy and beauty. Light weight enough for an old lady to move out of the way, but I never do.
Expect tons of compliments.

It looks incredibly elegant and has a premium feel. At just over $150, it's a steal.

Easy peasy
Size: 1 Panel, Color: Black
Bought this single-panel room divider for my son so he has a little privacy when he has to keep his camera on for online classes.
It’s lightweight, easy to set up, and does the job—he can focus without me photobombing in the background. He can feel like he has his own tiny corner office, even if it’s just the basement.
