This image also celebrates the 1996 50th Anniversary of the Blue Angels. The Navy precision flying Squadron, who took their name from a famous New York nightclub, began when three Grumman F6F Hellcats took to the sky at a Jacksonville, Florida Air Show in June, 1946. They continue to introduce and represent the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aviation around the world.
