The new 2025 vintage from Whispering Angel celebrates the 20th vintage made of this exceptional wine. The wine is in stock for delivery to your door be the first to try the new vintage.

Matthew Jukes First Taste Previous 2025 vintage:

It has passed in a flash, these last twenty years.  I remember Sacha Lichine telling me of his Provençal dream when he was still based in Bordeaux, and I had no reason to doubt he would make a go of it, given his energy and vision.  But I don’t think anyone, aside from perhaps Sacha, could have imagined it would change the world in the way in which Whispering Angel and the phenomenal estate wines from Château d’Esclans have done.  To date, there are countless imitators, and some make decent wines, but there is only one original, and it is fitting that this 20th-anniversary release is delicious, and that the ‘Grands Crus’, which are celebrated by the great and the good, are utterly stunning.  Chapeau.

It is fitting that the perfume here forms a veritable fanfare of glorious white peach, rhubarb, melon rind and pomegranates on the nose.  And then, as if by magic, an invisible conductor ushers the audience to their seats, and, on command, the flavours seep onto the palate and rise gradually until every taste bud is immersed in gloriously refreshing, silky fruit.  And then the flavours recede, leaving you with a feeling of monastic calm.  You momentarily snap back to attention and repeat.  Happy Birthday indeed, and it will last all year.  18/20

Whispering Angel from Chateau d'Esclans is arguably the World's greatest Rosé. The grapes come from the most select land in the surrounding region of La Motte in Provence. The blend consists of Grenache, Cinsault, Rolle (Vermentino), Syrah and Tibouren. This rosé is crisp, fresh and elegant and comes highly recommended.

About Château d’Esclans

Chateau d’Esclans is located on an exceptional site, on elevated land near the Gorges de Pennafort, twenty five kilometers northwest of the ancient Roman city of Frejus on the Mediterranean coast. The first traces of the chateau’s site date back to Gaullist times during which its location served as a lookout point to spot intruders coming by boat into the Gulf of Frejus. The chateau’s cellar structure or foundation (known today as the oldest in the region) housed an original Chateau that was given by the Comte de Provence to Gérard De Villeneuve, in 1201. The current chateau, inspired by Tuscan Villa design, was built during the mid 19th century.

Château d’Esclans lies in the center of the Department of the Var, where the majority of Provence AOC rosé is produced. The land was occupied as long as 2500 years ago when it was probably used as a lookout point for intruders sailing into the Gulf of Frejus. The original château—of which now only the cellar remains—dates back to before the 12th century. In 1201, Gérard De Villeneuve, part of a wealthy family from Marseille, took ownership of the château and the majority of the surface area of the Vallée d’Esclans that would eventually be sold off in lots. Two brothers, Sauver Louis Ranque and Francois Alexandre Ranque, were the next to own the château, known then as Terre d’Esclans.

In 1875, they sold the property to Joseph Toussaint Caussemille, who manufactured wooden matches near Marseilles. In 1955, the Perraud family owned the property until 1994. At that time, it was purchased by a Swedish pension fund that produced a small amount of wine and the remaining grapes were sold to neighboring winemakers. Sacha Lichine aquired Château d’Esclans in 2006. Today there are 108 acres (44 ha) of vineyards. The total proprety has 659 acres (267 ha).

The primary grape grown on the property is Grenache followed by Vermentino. Other grapes include Cinsault, Merlot, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Tibouren. The château is known for its old Grenache vines which produce grapes that offer greater concentration of flavor than do the younger vines. As the elevation to where the lots are situated increases, so do the age of the vines. At the highest elevated lot vines are as old as 90 years.

Good Quality Filter - Fit 2018 Honda CRV
Fit my 2018 Honda CRV-EX 1.5 Liter Turbo engine perfectly and it is a good quality air filter. Loosen the 4 cover screws and slip it right in place, make note of the small tab on the side of the filter and line it up so the cover goes back down correctly making a tight seal. TIP - when you loosen the screws with a Phillips head screw driver they wont pull out and there is no chance of losing them or falling out. Took about 5 minutes to replace.

Perfect fit. Pls read. Tricky cover removal and cover reinstall..
Perfect fit for 2024 CRV Hybrid Touring. But read if you are DIYing. Its easy but not so easy. Saw a couple of DIY YT videos. Removing the cover is a b*t*h. Use 6mm socket instead of a screw driver. Using socket is very important and a safe bet. The screws are deep and will need several turns to fully unscrew. A magnetic socket is recommended. Don't lose the screw and the 2 washers along with it. Removing the cover is tricky but not hard. Remember, no force is needed anytime during. It slides off of the rubber gasket when you lift a bit and pull it to the right. Once released you need to get it up, out and over that narrow space (the tricky part) to reach the filter. Replace the filter correctly as it has orientation. Putting the cover back is even trickier because the gap is narrower than the cover. Use your brain not force like a puzzle. Once back into the very narrow gap it slides back on the rubber ring/gasket effortlessly. Just double check the alignment before screwing. Absolutely hand turn the screws a good few turns to make sure you are NOT cross threading them before powering (avoid) it. ONLY HAND TIGHTEN SNUG. NO TORQUE NEEDED. I don't like the placement of this engine air filter chamber. Its far back and in a very tight space. Since this is going to be a frequently changed part it should have been more conveniently placed. Not happy with Honda design on this.
