The Birdie Suspended Lamp has been created by Ingo Maurer for the brand Ingo Maurer. Its unpeered design replicates bird wings. It is a vivid display of both technological and artistic mastery.
The Birdie Suspended Lamp has a dozen goose feather wings attached to its frame from the centre. The handcrafted pieces look like they are stretched in flight when the lamp is on. Customisation is possible by turning the individual wires that attach the wing bulbs to the frame. They can be turned, bent or otherwise reshaped to change the direction of the light they cast. The lamp's bulbs look like they are frosted but they dim like incandescent bulbs. This innovative creation is known as the TRI-R bulb and it is exclusive to the brand.
The Birdie Suspended Lamp has a height of 100cm and a diameter of 70cm. It does not have a dimmer though it can be dimmed using an external source. The brand recommends TRIAC dimmers, the Govena PRO1-250-LT-LED and other intelligent universal dimmers. The lamp is available with a clear or bright suspension cable. It is suitable for ceilings with heights of 260cm. A set that can be used to extend the height to 300cm is available for purchase separately. The lamp has an E27 socket.
