Hinaki"Fish traps are called Hinaki by Maori, though often the name is used specifically for an eel trap. They were made from woven vines, some in amazingly beautiful forms. The first light I ever made in 1995 was also shaped like this and called Hinaki. Our kitsets significantly reduce freighting, which is one of our ways of doing what we can to help preserve our beautiful sea and land environments" David Trubridge Details: Seed System kitset lightshade 3

  • David Trubridge graduated from Newcastle University in England in 1972 with a degree in Naval Architecture (Boat Design). Working as a forester part-time in rural Northumberland for a short period, he taught himself to make furniture. His carefully crafted designs were shown all over the UK.

In 1981, Trubridge and his wife Linda set off to sail around the world with their two small sons. They sold all they had and bought ‘Hornpipe’, the yacht that was their home for the next ten years as they navigated their way throughout the Caribbean and the Pacific.

The family arrived in New Zealand in 1985. Deeply inspired by his impressions of the Pacific, Trubridge began to develop furniture which held close connotations with the sea.

Fortunes changed dramatically for Trubridge with his re-launch of Body Raft which was taken to the Milan Furniture Fair in 2001 and brought into production by Cappellini. This signaled the transformation of the business from a small-scale model to one that has a considerable presence on the international lighting and furniture market.

Amazing!
Format: Paperback
I had a desire to write but nothing would come to me. Then, I began to read this book. It was a game changer! Three chapters into this book and I began to see scenes in my head for a story I am now writing. It all started to flow out of me and I credit this book for getting that started. Journeying through this book also strengthened my faith and validated that taking time for my talent is not selfish, it’s a form of worship. I highly recommend this book!

Great spiritual guidebook for the creative soul!
Format: Paperback
Janice Elsheimer has written a wonderful guidebook for Christian creatives, helping to unlock and unleash their God given gifts of talent for a purpose much higher than their own artistic satisfaction. Scripture verses anchor the chapters, along with soul-searching exercises, making this a very much needed manual to help spiritually lead creatives to a deeper relationship with The Creator. The dozen people in our first group at our Methodist church in East Texas are really being ignited into creative action and are excited and encouraged each week as they experience their newfound creative DNA being awakened and revealed to them. Bravo and much gratitude to a great book and a great author!

Unsure about your creative gifts?
Format: Paperback
Creativity usually isn't a gift recognized within most churches and, consequently, anyone wanting to use their gifts within that context face discouragement and isolation. Janice Elsheimer recognizes this struggle in her book, The Creative Call: An Artist's Response to the Way of the Spirit. A book applicable to individual or group study, she walks readers simple steps to reclaim that creative spirit. Using practical applications, examples from her own life and exercises within the book, the reader is able to work through stumbling blocks that may inhibit their own growth and, probably most importantly, given permission and affirmation that indeed, their gifts are important and have a place within the modern church.
