Make the most of your existing Nikon F lenses with this Vello Lens Adapter with Macro that not only allows you to use the lenses on a Sony E-mount camera, but also provides additional close-up focusing capabilities. This feature is provided through the use of an integrated macro focusing helicoid that increases the lens-to-sensor distance and effectively reduces your minimum focusing distance. You can also retract the helicoid to obtain infinity focus capabilities. This model also features an aperture control ring for Nikon G-type lenses and will allow you to adjust the aperture setting of the lens for more control over depth of field and exposure. Additionally, the adapter is made from a durable zinc alloy and features a matte black finish on the inside to reduce the potential for glare and reflections that can negatively impact image quality.
Although the lens will fit physically, autofocus, automatic diaphragm (AE metering), and other functions dependent on communication between camera body and lens will be disrupted by the lens adapter. You will need to focus manually, and to set exposures manually or meter in aperture priority (stop-down) mode. If the lens does not have a manual aperture collar, the aperture will be stopped down to its smallest f/stop. Focusing to infinity is retained.
