Fobumix Easyhaler Description
Fobumix is a relief inhaler that works in two ways, as it combines a steroid with a bronchodilator.
With formoterol, you may start to breathe easier within minutes.
At the same time, budesonide takes a few days to start working and helps prevent future attacks.

What is Fobumix Easyhaler?

Fobumix Easyhalers provide medication for COPD and asthma in a white-ish powder form that you inhale. Simply press down on the inhaler to prepare the dose, then breathe in – you don't have to worry about timing your breath with the inhaler's activation.

This treatment includes two active ingredients that work together to help manage your symptoms. One is formoterol, which helps open your airways, making it easier to breathe and relieving your asthma symptoms. The other is budesonide, a preventative treatment that targets inflammation to reduce irritation in your airways and keep your condition under control.

You'll use Fobumix every day to help manage your asthma. However, you can also discuss with your clinician about using it for symptom relief when needed. If you're currently using both a preventer and a reliever inhaler, Fobumix might be a convenient choice as it combines both functions. But remember, only use Fobumix as both a maintenance and reliever inhaler if your clinician advises you to do so.

How does Fobumix work?

Fobumix Easyhalers contain two active ingredients that help manage and ease your asthma and COPD symptoms. The first is budesonide, a type of steroid known as a corticosteroid. It works by reducing swelling in your lungs and airways, which helps lessen symptoms and prevent asthma attacks.

The second is a long-acting bronchodilator known as formoterol. A bronchodilator is a medicine that helps to relax and open up your airways, making breathing easier. Since it's long-acting, its effects last for about 12 hours.

What doses does Fobumix Easyhaler come in?

Fobumix Easyhaler comes in three different doses, depending on how severe your condition is.

For mild asthma, the smallest dose is 80 micrograms of budesonide and 4.5 micrograms of formoterol per inhalation. This dose isn't suitable if your asthma is severe or if you have COPD. The next dose up contains 160 micrograms of budesonide and 4.5 micrograms of formoterol, which is used for more serious asthma or COPD. For the most severe cases, there's a dose with 320 micrograms of budesonide and 9 micrograms of formoterol.

How often you use your inhaler each day depends on how well your condition and symptoms are managed. Typically, you'll take between one and four puffs, either once or twice daily. If you're advised to use your Fobumix Easyhaler as a reliever inhaler, you'll also use it whenever you have symptoms. Your clinician will guide you on the correct usage and timing for your inhaler.

Depending on your location, Fobumix Easyhaler might have a slightly different name. In Ireland, for instance, they're referred to as Bufomix Easyhalers. They're made by the same company and have the same active ingredients in identical dosages. Essentially, the only difference is the name.

How long does it take for Fobumix Easyhaler to work?

You should start to feel your symptoms improve within a few minutes of using your inhaler. Formoterol acts quickly to relax and open up your airways, making it easier for you to breathe. Research has shown that all patients using budesonide and formoterol treatments experienced significantly better lung function just three minutes after use, compared to their starting point.

Budesonide takes a bit more time to start working because it needs to reduce the chemicals in your lungs that lead to swelling and irritation. Within three to seven days, you'll notice you're wheezing and feeling short of breath less frequently.

What should I do if I make a mistake taking Fobumix?

Always use your Fobumix Easyhaler exactly as your clinician has advised. If you forget a dose, there's no need to worry. Take it as soon as you remember, unless it's nearly time for your next dose. In that case, just skip the missed dose and carry on with your usual schedule.

You should not take two doses to compensate for a missed one, as this might raise the chance of side effects. Taking too much Fobumix can lead to tremors, a faster heart rate, or a headache.

If you accidentally press the inhaler, use it more than once, or breathe out into the mouthpiece, there's no need to worry. Just tap the mouthpiece over a table or your hand to clear out the powder, and then try again.

Is Fobumix Easyhaler a steroid inhaler?

Yes, Fobumix Easyhaler includes budesonide, which is a corticosteroid type of steroid. Budesonide works to prevent COPD and asthma symptoms by lowering the production of chemicals that lead to inflammation. This reduces swelling and irritation in your lungs, helping to manage your condition over time.

How effective is Fobumix Easyhaler?

Fobumix Easyhaler is a highly effective treatment for both COPD and asthma. A real-world study found that people who were either newly diagnosed or switched from other inhalers experienced significant improvements in lung function, condition control, and quality of life over 12 weeks. Additionally, 72% of these individuals rated the Easyhaler as 'very good', and over 90% of doctors found it 'easy to teach'.

Do I need a prescription for Fobumix Easyhaler?

Yes, a prescription is required for Fobumix because it's not suitable for everyone. If you have high blood pressure, heart problems, or issues with your adrenal glands or thyroid, you might need a different medication. Your doctor will consider these factors and prescribe the most appropriate treatment for you. Simply complete a consultation to begin.

Does Fobumix have any side effects?

Not everyone will experience them, but Fobumix Easyhaler can cause some side effects. The most serious is a potential allergic reaction, which may include swelling of your face, tongue, or throat, trouble breathing, and feeling faint. This is rare and affects up to one in a thousand people. If you notice these symptoms after using Fobumix, seek medical help straight away.

There's a very slim chance (one in 10,000) that you might suddenly experience wheezing or shortness of breath after taking your medication. If this happens, stop using the treatment straight away and get in touch with your doctor immediately, as you may need to switch to a different treatment.

The most common side effects you may notice include oral thrush, a sore throat, a headache, heart palpitations, or trembling. These are generally mild and tend to go away as your body adjusts to Fobumix. To lower the risk of developing thrush, rinse your mouth with water after each inhalation.

What are alternatives to Fobumix Easyhaler?

There are many combination inhalers used to treat asthma and COPD, such as Seretide Accuhalers and Symbicort Turbohalers. These inhalers contain either the same active ingredients as Fobumix or similar ones, like the corticosteroid fluticasone and the bronchodilator salmeterol. How you use your inhaler might differ a bit depending on the type, but they should all work in a similar way.

A real-world study involving 398 asthma patients and 563 COPD patients found that switching from a metered-dose inhaler (MDI), Turbohaler, Accuhaler, Respimat, or Breezhaler to the Fobumix Easyhaler led to a noticeable decrease in symptoms and improvements in lung function and condition management.

Is Fobumix safe to use during pregnancy?

If you're planning to have a baby, suspect you might be pregnant, or are already pregnant or breastfeeding, it's important to talk to your clinician before using Fobumix Easyhaler. They will ensure that the benefits of the treatment are greater than any potential risks to your baby. If you become pregnant while using Fobumix Easyhaler, don't stop taking it, but contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Can Fobumix Easyhaler be used for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)?

Certainly. If you're struggling to breathe due to your COPD, you may be given Fobumix to ease your symptoms and help prevent them over time.

Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!!
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Queen of Roses (Blood of a Fae #1) by Briar Boleyn Genre General Fiction ( Adult), Romance, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Romance “More primordial than the stars. My name was on his lips as he promised unspeakable darkness to any who came between us.” Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!! I’m a big fan of “touch her, and you die” vibes, but I mean, what’s also not to love about a unique Arthurian retelling with gender twists, a treacherous royal court, a dangerous quest, magical Fae & mystical monsters, entwined with a bit of spice! Morgan, Princess of Pendrath and true heir to the throne has spent most of her life dimming her light to feel safe and to make others comfortable. She is treated as an outcast in the court and repressed by her family due to the blood of the Fae within her and forced to join the Temple of the Three as a priestess in training to one day replace Merlin. Her brother, King Arthur, who reminds me of Joffrey from Game of Thrones, later tells her that he has other plans and offers her a choice of the Temple or to marry her off for political gain, unless… that is, she can journey through the great unknown and return with a long-lost fae weapon with enchanted powers known as Excalibur. Her quest begins with a roguish crew that includes the mysterious, arrogant, and heart-tuggingly handsome Captain of the Royal Guard, Kairos Draven, whom she can’t decide if she wants to stab or indulge in pleasure with. Along the way are plenty of surprises, mystical creatures, and betrayal, all while Morgan uncovers more of the truth about herself and who she can trust. This book had intriguing storylines and lovable characters that kept me turning pages and wanting more. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds and comes together in book 2, Court of Claws, which I just started reading!! Read if you’re into- Dark Fantasy/Romance Slow–Burn Question Everything Magic and Action Fae Arthurian Legend Stabby/Broken FFC Morally Gray MMC Forced Proximity Queen of Roses is perfect for Holly Black, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Sarah J. Maas fans. Please check the trigger warnings page in the table of contents before reading this book.

3.5 stars, A little boring to say the least.
Format: Kindle
Wow so I'm not sure where to begin on this one. This was a very different take on the legend of Arthur and Excalibur. This is told from the point of view of Morgan the sister of Arthur. Honestly the first 50% of this book is world building and character building which unfortunately was super boring for me. Morgan to me was a female MC that had a hard time in believing in herself. Sometimes taking too long to understand exactly what was going on around her. Draven was also a different male MC, like I couldn't put my finger on him and what he was all about. It was not until the last 10% of the book did we get some answers on the mystery that is Draven. The other 50% of the book centered around this big journey with everyone having a different motive. We see a spark of magic around this time that had me excited but then we never expanded upon that and what it could mean for the female MC. I feel like I want to read the second book just to see where this goes, but the spice was probably a 2 out of 5. Side characters are ok, Lancelet was fun but I almost felt like I wanted more.

A bewitching retelling of Arthurian legend!
Format: Kindle
In a land where the Fae have nearly become only a legend and those who still posses even a morsel of the blood are few and far between, Morgan finds herself cast aside by most of society due to her rumored half-Fae lineage, including her brother, King Arthur. With the kingdom at the brink of war, Arthur entrusts her with a quest to retrieve a Fae weapon of legendary power: the sword of Perun, Excalibur. Accompanied by men she loathes, Captain Kairos Draven and Ragnar Whitehorn, she embarks on her long and unbeknownst perilous journey, only to find that things she once believed to be myth are in fact very real. With devastating twists, omitted truths, witty banter and fierce action, Queen of Roses leaves you begging to know more about the secrets of Aercanum! Wow, wow, wow! Going into this story, I did not realize that it was going to be a retelling of Arthurian legend, especially not one with a fantastical twist! The unique spin almost gave me The Witcher vibes and I think adding Fae into the mix was quite interesting. I knew the basics of the legend but after reading this book, it has piqued my interest and makes me want to learn more about it. My attention was snatched as soon as I finished the prologue and I knew that I was going to devour this story. I truly enjoyed the gender swaps and even how Arthur was portrayed as villainous. Morgan’s past and even her parts of her present is absolutely heartbreaking, and I felt for her at times. I can only recall one other book that made me hate characters the way I despised Florian and Arthur, leaving me with my blood boiling and feeling disgusted. Even after finishing the book, Draven is still a mystery to me and I cannot figure out how to feel about him. I guess they just means that the author did an excellent job at conveying each character’s persona! The rich world building and imagery made it easy for me to visualize the places that the group visited along their journey. I am truly engulfed in this story and I cannot wait to see wait fate awaits Morgan and how the Fae will be even more incorporated in the next book!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Enchanting
Format: Kindle
"Queen of Roses" by Briar Boleyn is a delightful and refreshing reimagining of the classic tale of King Arthur, with a captivating twist that places the spotlight on Morgan, a character who has often been overshadowed in traditional retellings. Boleyn's creative decision to shift the narrative perspective to Morgan breathes new life into the story, offering readers an intriguing and compelling look at the Arthurian world from an entirely different angle. One of the most commendable aspects of this book is its incorporation of Fae elements, which adds an enchanting layer of magic and mystery to the already familiar Arthurian setting. Boleyn skillfully weaves the world of the Fae into the narrative, creating a captivating backdrop against which the events of the story unfold. This addition not only adds depth to the world-building but also provides ample opportunities for twists and turns that keep readers thoroughly engrossed. However, while the book boasts numerous strengths, it does have one noticeable flaw: the characterization of Morgan. While it is reasonable to create a flawed and complex protagonist, it appears that at times, Morgan's character becomes overly difficult and hard to relate to. Her persistently negative perception of one of the main male characters, who is a potential love interest, despite his efforts to support and assist her, may come across as somewhat irrational and could test the patience of some readers. Striking a balance between a strong, independent character and one who can recognize genuine support and affection could have enhanced the overall reader experience. Nonetheless, the allure of "Queen of Roses" lies in its innovative approach to the Arthurian legend and its skillful blending of fantasy elements into a familiar narrative. Boleyn's evocative prose draws readers into a world where magic, destiny, and fate entwine, leaving us eager to uncover the mysteries that unfold within the pages. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
