D.D. Ryan (Dorinda Dixon Ryan) was a towering 20th-century New York socialite, fashion editor, and muse. Though she worked closely with Halston and designed for Broadway, she is best known as the "fashionable godmother" of the beloved children's book Eloise.

Key Milestones

Harper's Bazaar: Hired as an assistant to legendary photographer Richard Avedon, she quickly became the photo editor under Diana Vreeland.

The Creation of Eloise: When her friend Kay Thompson would perform her cabaret voice of the mischievous 6-year-old hotel resident, D.D. pushed her to write a book. She introduced Thompson to illustrator Hilary Knight, pushing them to finish the project.

Broadway & Film: She designed the costumes for the original 1970 Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company and the 1971 film A New Leaf.

Halston & Fashion: She served as an associate and confidante to designer Halston for 15 years, frequently appearing on international best-dressed lists.

A portrait of the Hollywood legend draws from the information in his FBI folder, more than three hundred interviews with actors and other coworkers, and data from the Warner Brothers archives.

Laurence Stern is still one of the most creative writers ever
This review is not about the words and images inside the book. This is about the fact that, when I removed the book from its packaging, the book's cover had too many creases and bends in it, both front and back, for my taste. Although I do think that Laurence Sterne might have smiled at my response, I don't think the creases were a type of samizdat (think Alexander Solzhenitsyn) added by a disgruntled/creative employee at Amazon. If this doesn't make any sense to you, or seems to be a silly mountain out of a molehill compliant, you will love the book.

A Few Thoughts on Tristram Shandy by Laurence Sterne
Shandy is an amazing book. More than anything it made me think of a late 1990s vibe with Seinfeld and David Foster Wallace. I can imagine the discourse that must have grown up around it. It I about memory and storytelling but also about nothing but also childbirth and siege warfare. I’m glad I read it; it was worth it even if it took a while.

Super white smile!
If you are looking to whiten and brighten your smile look no further. These are the best whitening strips on the market that do not require you to see a dentist. My teeth are so white and bright. I have sensitive teeth and these don’t seem to bother them either with recommended use. Highly recommend to everyone.

THE BEST TEETHING WHITENING EVER
These really do work! I had done these for three day and there a big different already. I suggest to buy this product and I think it’s worth your money. I will say though to be careful because they make your gums sensitive and can give your gums burn if you’re not careful. If you notice any burning of the gums please take a break so you don’t further damage your gums. Other than that this product is only teeth whitening treatment that didn’t put weird white patches on my teeth. So if you’re struggling with that, I suggest you buy these.
