5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is a compound belonging to the group of amino acids. It is derived from the seeds of the African plant Griffonia simplicifolia, also known as African black bean. It is also naturally produced in the body from tryptophan—an essential amino acid obtained from food.
5-HTP is then used to produce serotonin, a neurotransmitter often referred to as the "happiness hormone," which plays a key role in regulating sleep, mood, emotions, and appetite.
Our dietary supplement contains Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract, standardized to 30% 5-HTP.
Each daily serving provides 333.33 mg of black bean seed extract (DER 30:1), delivering 100 mg of 5-hydroxytryptophan. The 5-HTP contained in our product can be a valuable component of your daily supplementation routine.
