Tiffen Pro100 ND Prime Filter Kit with 4x4" Solid Neutral Density 1.2 Filter

This Tiffen Pro100 ND Prime Filter Kit contains a Pro100 Series Camera Filter Holder and one anodized aluminum-alloy adapter ring for attaching to a lens with a front filter thread diameter of 77mm. A compatible 4-stop, solid neutral density filter is also provided, plus a filter pouch for storage and transport.

The included solid neutral density filter creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This kit's Tiffen Pro100 Series Camera Filter Pouch provides a secure and convenient transport and storage solution for any combination of up to four 4 x 4" rectangular filters or four 94mm circular filters. Filters placed within this pouch can be easily accessed by opening its hook-and-loop fastened lid which features a label window along the top. While inside, filters are kept separated by three partitions and are protected by a soft and nonabrasive polyester interior-lining, plus padding against the pouch's front and back. The pouch's exterior consists of ballistic nylon for water-resistance, and an integrated belt loop with a touch tab closure is located along the rear side.

  The Pro100 Series Camera Filter Holder with 77mm Adapter Ring from Tiffen is designed to allow for the convenient use of 100mm-wide, 4mm-thick filters on lenses with 77mm front filter threads.
  
  Use of the filter holder can be easily accomplished by first screwing the included 77mm Adapter Ring for Pro100 Series Camera Filter Holder onto a lens with 77mm front filter threads. Adapter rings are separately available for lenses with 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, or 82mm front filter threads. After being fitted onto an adapter ring, the filter holder's pull-and-release locking pin helps to provide a reliable, yet adjustable connection that allows the holder to be rotated 360°, permitting the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning.
  
  The Pro100 Series Camera Filter Holder is preinstalled with two pairs of plastic filter slots, a configuration that accommodates two rectangular filters. These slots are attached to the filter holder by a total of four screws, which also serve to apply pressure on any filters placed between the slots. Those screws can be loosened or tightened to vary the level of grip upon the inserted filters, which can complement the use of graduated filters whose effect can be adjusted to better suit changing lighting conditions or creative demands by sliding them up or down within a filter slot.
  
  To prevent stray light, which could have unwanted effects on exposure, from coming in between an installed filter and a connected lens, two of four included adhesive gaskets can be placed along the front of the Pro100 Series Camera Filter Holder. These gaskets are designed to be positioned so that two of them each form a seal between the plastic filter slots. The remaining two adhesive gaskets are provided in case either of the initially-installed gaskets needs to be replaced.

  The Tiffen 4 x 4" ND 1.2 Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 4 stop exposure reduction. This 1.2 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required.   This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6mm.
