Formation & Characteristics
Dendritic quartz forms as quartz crystals grow over geological time, with tiny fissures along horizontal planes that allow mineral-rich solutions to enter. The resulting dendrites are fractal, tree-like inclusions of black to brown manganese and hematite, producing a miniature landscape within the crystal. The color ranges from clear to cloudy white with dark dendritic patterns in black, brown, and occasional yellow to red hues. The specimen displays natural facets and the Point No. 2 lean noted earlier.
