Atkinsons Irish Poplin is a sturdy 50-50 blend of the finest silk and Australian merino wool. It is hand warped of yarn dyed silk and has a weft of yarn dyed merino worsted wool making a perfect combination for ties.
It was originally handwoven at home by Irish weavers. In 1820 Richard Atkinson asked a group of these weavers to make their Irish Poplin for his shop and by 1837 the fabric was so popular it received a Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria. Treat your self to an individually hand finished Atkinson's necktie.
