Shenk’s Homestead Distillery Sour Mash Whiskey honors the legacy of historic American whiskey figure John Shenk, who in 1753 founded a distillery that was to become known as Michter’s in the 20th Century. It is made in Kentucky according to the traditional Sour Mash process whereby a portion of the previously distilled whiskey mash (referred to as “setback”) is added into the next batch. This full-bodied small batch whiskey is 91.2 proof.

Shenk’s is a Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey made with a substantial amount of rye. The unique character of this 2023 offering results from its being produced with malted rye in the recipe. Additionally, for its maturation we utilized two different and quite special barrel profiles: a portion of it was aged in 18-month naturally air-dried and seasoned wood with our signature toast and char profile and a portion of it was aged in special toasted French oak barrels that were made from 24-month air-dried wood sourced from the Vosges region of France.

This is a warm and rich expression with highlights of spiced fruit, nougat, honey and spiced chocolate.

These are very nice. I like this type of sandal with the "thong" feature while also having my foot gently hugged. When I got these shoes, I took them to my artistic shoe repair guy, to promptly put protective layer on the front bottom of the soles. That way, it always looks like new, no scratched sole. That costs a bit, but worth it for me. I might buy a pair or two in some other colors, later. I am 5'10" tall, clothes size M, shoes - 9, 150lb. These shoes feel true to size.

Super comfortable, can walk al night in them. I size up in anything steve madden. I’m usually a 9, but a 9.5 in steve madden fits almost exact so I get a size 10 in any of their shoes. Sizing is consistent throughout styles but I def need to size up. If you’re in between sizes, I suggest a whole size up. Unless you like an exact fit, personally I think an exact fit looks off any slight movement of your foot and the shoe looks like it doesn’t fit. I would say they’re pricey but they’re def a classy and comfortable pair of heels!
