Description:
Agave attenuata, commonly known as Foxtail Agave, is a stunning architectural succulent featuring soft, broad, blue-green leaves that form a symmetrical rosette. Unlike many other agaves, it has smooth, spineless foliage, making it a safer choice for pathways and garden borders. Its dramatic, curved flower spike and sculptural form make it a standout in contemporary, coastal, and drought-tolerant landscapes.

Flowers:
A tall, arching flower spike resembling a foxtail appears on mature plants (usually after several years), bearing clusters of greenish-yellow flowers. After flowering, the main rosette dies, but pups around the base continue to grow.

Foliage:
Broad, smooth, pale blue-green leaves grow in rosettes, arching gracefully without spines or sharp edges. The soft, sculptural look adds elegance to dry gardens.

Fruit:
After flowering, the plant may produce small bulbils (plantlets) on the flower spike, which can be propagated.

Form & Size:
Forms a rosette up to 1–1.2m tall and 1–2m wide. With age, it may form a short trunk, giving it a tree-like appearance.

Growing Conditions:

  • Position: Prefers full sun to part shade.
  • Soil: Well-drained sandy or loamy soils. Avoid heavy, waterlogged conditions.
  • Climate: Excellent for subtropical, coastal, and Mediterranean climates. Tolerates light frost and heat.
  • Watering: Very drought-tolerant. Water occasionally during extended dry periods.

Uses:

  • Ideal for rockeries, dry gardens, and succulent landscapes.
  • Perfect in pots or as a sculptural accent in modern and coastal gardens.
  • Works well in mass planting or as a low-maintenance focal point.

Maintenance:

  • Extremely low-maintenance.
  • Remove spent flower stalks and old leaves as needed.
  • Pups can be removed and replanted to propagate new plants.

Notes:

  • Spineless leaves make it child and pet-friendly.
  • Fire-retardant and ideal for low-water landscaping.
  • Avoid overwatering or poor drainage to prevent root rot.

Companion Plants:
Pairs beautifully with Aloe, Yucca, Euphorbia, and ornamental grasses for a bold, water-wise landscape.

Common Name: Foxtail Agave
Botanical Name: Agave attenuata
Family: Asparagaceae
Origin: Mexico

Bought a "Used like new" watch. Doesn't keep time
Color: Black/Black/Black/Fast-Wrap
I've had this for a few weeks. Since then, it's lost about 30 seconds. I'm not sure if it's this specific unit that has the issue or the mechanism itself. It's a shame because it's a killer looking watch.

Light, retro watch
Color: Brown/Brown/Natural
This is a light, comfortable and retro-stylish watch. A mixture of plastic, canvas, and faux-leather makes a good match for a college professor's tweed jacket with leather shoulders and elbow patches. It looks and feels cheap but it's actually a pretty good watch. Mine has a high contrast face making it easy to read. The hands have lume on them but it only glows for a few minutes. There is an indiglo feature when you press the winder so that's great. The day window is tiny and almost unreadable even with reading classes but other than that it is very functional. You can adjust the time and day independently (so you don't have to wind through 100+ hours to get the right day displayed). The winder setting to select between time and day adjust is very finicky. Fortunately you only need to adjust the day 5 times a year. The weakest part is the build quality. I'm not expecting Rolex, but the case corrodes really badly and the strap is short and the stitching failed so it fell off my wrist in about 6 months. I replaced the strap with a better one but the case corroded so badly I tossed it within a year. Other than looking cheap, poor build quality, and being thicker than I would like, I think this is a good watch.
