The grab bar must be pulled downward into its horizontal position and remains securely stored against the wall in a folded, vertical position when not in use. A specialized tension control system prevents the bar from falling down or randomly dropping into position. The tubing used to craft the bar is made of type-304, 18-gauge stainless steel and measures 1-1/4 inches in diameter. Featuring a smooth surface, the grab bar is 34 inches long and has a satin finish to cut down on fingerprinting. The entire surface is buffed to ensure that there are no burrs or sharp edges. Securely welded to the unit, the wall plate is fabricated out of type-304, 14-gauge stainless steel.
