Wharfedale Evo 5.1 Speaker With Stands

EVO 5 — The Next Evolution of Accessible Audiophile Sound

EVO 5 builds on the EVO 4’s runaway success—earning rave reviews and becoming one of our best-selling ranges—and introduces targeted upgrades over its predecessor: a larger AMT tweeter, a tri-directional SLPP bass port, enhanced Kevlar woofers with elastomer damping, and a stiffer multi-layer real-wood cabinet with precision spot bracing. Co-developed with our flagship Elysian series, EVO 5 preserves that natural, musical British signature while delivering deeper bass, broader transparency, and ultra-low coloration—all at a truly everyday price.

High-End Sound, Everyday Price

EVO 5 represents the next evolution of rationally priced audiophile-grade loudspeakers. Developed alongside Wharfedale’s flagship Elysian series, EVO 5 shares advanced technologies, tonal accuracy, and impeccable build quality—now with targeted upgrades—yet remains astonishingly accessible. That classic British sound—natural, musical, and addictive—shines through with transparent, low-coloration detail that rivals speakers costing far more.

EVO 5.1

The most compact in the EVO 5 line, the 5.1 packs surprising punch from its 5.1-inch Kevlar woofer and refined AMT tweeter. Its tri-directional SLPP port keeps bass tight and musical even in tight spaces, making it ideal for desktop listening or small-room two-channel systems and equally effective as satellite speakers in a home cinema setup.

Precision AMT Tweeter

EVO 5’s Air Motion Transformer tweeter features an expanded 35 × 70 mm pleated diaphragm driven by precision magnets, now enhanced with acoustic damping and an elastomer frame. The result is faster transients, wider dispersion, and ultra-low distortion—delivering crisp, extended treble without harshness or fatigue.

Controlled Kevlar Bass Drivers

Building on Elysian’s low-distortion motor system, EVO 5 woofers use woven Kevlar cones (130 mm or 150 mm, depending on model) with low-loss rubber surrounds and rear elastomer damping. The stiff, well-damped cones ensure ideal piston motion and a seamless blend with the midrange—producing bass that’s weighty, articulate, and true to the music.

Refined SLPP Bass Port

Wharfedale’s Slot Loaded Profiled Port (SLPP) is now a tri-directional design, venting rear radiation left, right, and rear through flared, semi-parabolic flanges. By equalizing high internal pressure to room pressure without turbulence, EVO 5 delivers deep, articulate bass free from port noise—and is far less sensitive to placement.

Resonance-Free Real-Wood Cabinets

EVO 5 cabinets employ a sandwich of high-loss chipboard between stiff MDF layers to cancel resonances, aided by computer-modeled spot bracing that ties opposite wall

Clean Connections

A single set of high-quality 5-way binding posts provides a secure, reliable connection and keeps cables neatly organized. Straight terminals simplify hookup and ensure a tidy, uncluttered appearance behind your speakers.

Seamless Home Cinema Integration

For a complete surround system, EVO 5 models share tweeters, driver cones, and crossover topology across the range. The matched tonal balance ensures coherent imaging and consistent performance in every channel—so your home cinema sounds as refined as your stereo system.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Jillian West and her books!!! I’m so happy I already bought book two and now I have to buy the others for the Assurance Security series!! Not gonna lie Val kind of annoyed me at the beginning but she grew on me!! Her men are chef’s kisses!!! Holt annoys me some but I can let it slide. I already bought part two so I’m going to be reading that in between work phone calls!!!! DON’T TELL MY BOSS 😂😂😂😂

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.
