Compared to previous skis of this width for women, this ski's tip has been widened, and the widest point of the ski has been moved back, shortening the sidecut length.  The waist width has been narrowed slightly, making it more responsive from edge to edge.  This new shape offers more surface area in the tip area for better performance in deeper snow, and the short, tight sidecut arc makes the Black Pearl 97 easy and quicker ski to turn.   Its unique combination of width, rocker profile, and lady specific Flip Core technology, make it very, very difficult to have a bad day on this ski.  If you are looking for the one ski quiver, perfect all mountain ski, most versatile, (we like to call it an All Day, Every Day ski), or whatever its label, this is the one!

The Black Pearl 97 is a 100% Women's Specific Design (WSD) construction, and includes Blizzard's all new TrueBlend Wood Core build inside.  TrueBlend places stiffer/denser wood laminations where needed to increase edge hold and stability, with softer/lower density wood where possible for a more forgiving flex/feel, and easier turn initiation.  The result is a ski that feels very light, and has a low swing weight, but is still very stable, powerful and super smooth.  ABS sidewalls further enhance the performance of this ski by providing a suspension system for the edges, and also by increasing torsional (twisting) stiffness.
