Spanish pyrite looks as if it had been carved and polished prior to discovery- the edges are exceedingly sharp and its faces are extremely smooth. Peruvian pyrite also leans towards cubic structures, but has striated texture along the faces. Italian pyrite forms in more complicated shapes, often octahedral.
