Farm-grown Californian Redwood Dreadnought Guitar Top Book-matched Set

Unique, farm-grown Californian Redwood from the Otway Ranges in Victoria. This set is from a 37-year old tree grown by Rowan Reid on his property at the Bambra Agroforestry Farm.

The timber is processed to ensure the grain is as straight as possible to minimise long-grain runout and increase stability, strength and acoustic qualities. These top sets have a bright tone somewhere between cedar and spruce and have very good sustain

This timber has been dried in a solar kiln to 8% EMC. 

 

Blemishes/Defects: see photos, old pruning wounds can be avoided.

Timber is part of nature and unlike man-made products it may have natural features that could be undesirable for some luthiers. Although these features can purvey uniqueness and authenticity they may also be seen as imperfect by some. We have made every effort to highlight any blemishes or defects as best as we can. Great quality for the price!

This body shimmer oil gives a really nice sun-kissed glow without looking overly glittery. Glowy but not sure about the spf
Color: Glistening Bronze
My first impression was that this works more like a basic body shimmer than anything else. The Glistening Bronze shade gives a noticeable glow, especially on arms and shoulders. It spreads easily and adds a warm shimmer in the light, but the overall effect feels pretty simple and more cosmetic than skincare focused. In use, the oil blends in smoothly and feels lightweight on the skin. It does leave a bit of moisture behind, similar to a light body oil, and the shimmer shows up well outdoors. The bronze tone is fairly deep, so it seems better suited for medium to darker skin tones or anyone who wants a stronger bronzed glow. The product mentions SPF 45, but there is very little information about the sun protection side of it, so I personally treat this more like a shimmer oil than a sunscreen. Overall, this is fine if you are mainly looking for a body shimmer that adds glow and a bronzed look. It does the job of giving skin a subtle shine and a bit of hydration, but it does not stand out as anything particularly special. I would recommend it mostly for people who want a simple shimmering body oil rather than relying on it for sun protection.
