At Hardwood Artisans, the Crofter’s collection is built much like our Craftsman style, but the sides are open, with graceful slats instead of solid panels, making these pieces visually light and airy.

One of the main characteristics of our Crofters pieces is the strong use of vertical spindles in the sides and backs. The general look is what many people might term “mission” style. Our Crofters sofas, loveseats, and chairs are archetypes of this genre. Traditionally done in quarter-sawn white oak, these look very “updated” in cherry, walnut and mahogany. You choose or supply the fabric to really compliment your décor.

In the Crofter tight seat version, there are no separate seat cushions as such, resulting in a little firmer feel. The legs appear a little taller on the tight seat version, but in both cases, the top of the seat cushion is 18” off the floor. A traditional Arts and Crafts piece would have had a tight seat, but we are not doing reproductions; let comfort and your own sense of style be your guide.

The price of this piece includes the upholstering labor costs but not the cost of the fabric. If you choose to purchase this item, you will need to supply the fabric or leather in the amounts listed below.
