The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Far Red Control Kit contains both T1 and T1/2 infrared filters. These filters enable HD cameras with extended red sensitivity to render colors in a more accurate manner. Without the use of an infrared blocking filter, colors can appear muddy due to the increased infrared radiation that is not visible to the human eye. These filters absorb this unwanted light beyond the visible spectrum while preserving HD camera's unique increased red response.
These filters are constructed from Water White glass and are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. These filters measure 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm.
