About the Workshop:
While the art of bookbinding may seem daunting at first, there are some basic book structures that make entering the world of book arts fun and accessible. In this introductory class you will learn the basic use of bookbinding tools and materials, along with simple bookbinding structures that utilize softcovers. Students will learn about non-adhesive structures, bindings for single sheets, and other bindings that can be made with little specialized equipment. Accordions, pamphlets, drum leaf books, and a variety of softcover bindings will be taught during the course. This class is ideal for those who wish to learn simple forms for presenting work, or for building fundamental knowledge on bookbinding.Required Materials:
- Pencil and paper for taking notes
- Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get stained or dirty (CBA will provide aprons, but the ink used on press can stain)

About the Instructor
Elizabeth Castaldo is a New York based artist, printmaker, and bookbinder. Working with collage, drawing, and printmaking she creates multi-layered and visually abundant works on paper and artist’s books that explore nature, the divine feminine and interconnectivity. She was a 2024 art-in-ed workspace resident at Women’s Studio Workshop and has completed residencies at Proyecto ‘Ace in Buenos Aires Argentina, Arquetopia in Oaxaca Mexico, the Center for Book Arts, NYC and Printmaker’s Open Forum, Oxford PA. In 2023, her work was included in an illustrated edition of The Awakening by Kate Chopin published by Kasini House and Kolaj. Her work has been exhibited internationally including with Proyecto ‘Ace, Saint-Paul de Mausole at Saint-Rémy, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Empty Set Gallery, Zuckerman Museum of Art, Center for Book Arts, Saint Joseph’s College, and Landing Contemporary. She teaches printmaking and book arts at Parsons School of Design and the Center for Book Arts. Castaldo received her MFA from SCAD Atlanta where she was a Dean’s Fellow in Printmaking and her BFA from the School of Visual Arts. Her work is held in many private and institutional collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Public Library, SCAD, The University of Alberta, Carnegie Mellon University, Yale University and others. Worth it!

These pillows are amazing and very soft and comfortable. They came nicely packaged and I let them sit out for just a few hours before using them and that was plenty of time! They come with the cooling cover and fit a standard queen sized pillowcase. The material expands well and does not have any weird smells. 10/10 well worth the price.

Miracle pillow

Best pillow I’ve ever had. I have been using this since December 2024 and it still hasn’t gotten flat. It is amazingly comfortable and solves all my neck issues for a side sleeper. My head never gets hot either. I’ve recommended this to my friends and they’ve had success with it as well.

Really wanted to love these

I really wanted to love these but they gave me a stiff neck. I haven't slept with a pillow since buying these. They are firm except where you lay your head. It just deflates there. I expected it to sink in to match the curve of my neck but it was more than I could handle. My head ended up in a valley between the two ends of the pillow. The price was good, zipper worked fine, it looks as advertised and the pillows are good quality. The cooling part works, its just not what I needed.

most comfortable pillow I have ever bought. It seems very well put together so I believe that it will last a long time. Very happy with the purchase. I do think the weight of the pillow will surprise many people because while it is quite heavy, it is very firm and extremely comfortable. Great value.

I paid for the product and it’s GOOD 👍🏽

Honest review to help your decision. These are a bargain at two for one. I paid almost $30 for one at a local retailer and it’s already flattened after 7 months.
This product arrives vacuum sealed with the cooling pillow covers separately (separate so you can wash before using). They are loaded with memory foam which I found pleasing. I chose to leave all of the foam in because I’m sure it’ll flatten sometime in the future. I’ve been using these for TWO MONTHS now and they have not flattened.
Easy to mold and fluff, soft and they are added support for my back up pillows. I cannot attest to any type of pain relief because I have not experienced that with these personally. I do feel my sleep is better so my tension headaches have lessened.
The cooling hex layer is on the cover NOT the actual pillows. I’m sure everyone knows that memory foam gets really hot 🥵 but the cooling covers on these help minimize that. It actually feels cool to the touch like a gel product. I find the quality to be exceptional.
All in all, give it a shot.
