* New! Snuggly wool throw woven in a beautiful pattern inspired by Värmland smithery.

This truly gorgeous 100% wool blanket is made in Sweden by Öjbro Vantfabrik and dyed in subtle natural colours. It’s made from wool sourced from a special sheep breed that crosses Merino with Perendale, creating a thicker, more durable wool while retaining the softness of Merino.

Suitable for all seasons, this versatile throw works beautifully for everyday family use. Ideal for the couch, cosy evenings at home, or as an extra layer on the bed.

A classic wool blanket with decorative fringes, Öjbro’s wool blankets are thick and compact in structure, woven in multiple layers for warmth and durability. The warp is concealed by the patterned weft, which also forms the fringes at each end.

Woven on jacquard looms, the pattern appears clearly on both sides, with the reverse forming a mirror image of the front. Excluding the fringes, the blanket measures almost exactly two metres in length, resulting in a firm yet soft wool throw with a beautifully balanced feel.

Öjbro Vantfabrik is dedicated to preserving and sharing Swedish knitting heritage. The Ekshärad design is inspired by Värmland smithery and patterned and dyed in traditional colours. This pattern is also available in Merino socks and kneehigh socks. See below to read the Ekshärad story.

Care: Handwash using a gentle wool shampoo recommended for best results. To machine wash, choose a cold wool cycle, skipping the spin cycle. Dry flat on a towel, gently reshaping while wet. The story of the Ekshärad pattern: Ekshärad, located in the Värmland region, is renowned for its wooden church and historic cemetery, which dates back to the late 1600s. The iron crosses are shaped like trees of life, their loosely hanging "playing leaves" swaying in the wind. In earlier times, painted wooden eggs were attached to the crosses’ spikes for certain celebrations. Originally crafted by local village blacksmiths, the tradition endures today, with new crosses still being made at Stjärnsforssmedjan.

Ekshärad Church was first mentioned in the ancient "Västgötalagen" from the 1200s. The original church, built near the Klarälven River, suffered from flooding. A second church was constructed in the 1400s, but it too was damaged by the river’s waters. To avoid further flooding, the parish council decided to rebuild the church on higher ground. The current church, completed in 1686, stands as a testament to this history.

Designer Åse Öjbro, founder of Öjbro Vantfabrik, has created the Ekshärad design to incorporate the hanging leaves and spikes of the iron crosses, framed by small cottages. She says "I wanted to capture the essence of Ekshärad... these life-affirming crosses, so deeply rooted in Swedish cultural history and craftsmanship, all still preserved in Ekshärad."

These trees of life are an ancient symbol, reminding us that life continues even after people pass away. These unique symbols have made Ekshärad an international attraction, featured on both stamps and in encyclopedias. Thanks to Provost Krook, many of the older crosses have been preserved, with the oldest dating back to the late 1600s.

At the Ekshärad cemetery, more than 500 iron crosses stand as a testament to this enduring tradition. The iron crosses form a significant part of Ekshärad’s identity, telling a timeless story of artistry, history, and faith.

It’s cozy and fluffy without it being heavy or too warm.
Size: Queen, Color: White
I ordered this in the color white in the size queen and I have to say I do like it. My only worry was if it was going to be too warm and it is surprisingly very light and airy, but it still gives you that feeling of comfy, which is what I mainly wanted. Right now it is a little warmer throughout the night but every now and then where I live I tend to have to put another blanket on top of me when the weather drops at night, which is annoying however, with this, it provides enough warmth without it being so heavy on you. I have to say for the price I can’t complain.

Great product
Size: King, Color: White
I absolutely love this king-size bedding! The material feels incredibly soft and comfortable, making it perfect for a great night’s sleep. It fits my king bed perfectly with plenty of coverage, and it stays in place without bunching up. The quality is excellent—it feels durable, well-made, and has held up nicely after washing without or shrinking.

Soft and fluffy
Size: King, Color: White
Very fluffy! I’ve been searching for one like this for YEARS that can replicate that fluffy hotel style feeling. Great quality, it’s a cool white color. Very warm. It has the little bands on the edges for your duvet cover to attach to. Perfect fit.

Pleasant surprise, warm and fluffy
Size: Queen, Color: White, Size: Queen, Color: White
For the past couple years my girlfriend and I have gone through a few cheap comforters. We never really gave much thought to them and subsequently they never impressed us. I grew up using a down comforter and have very fond memories of that blanket. The comfort and warmth was something that I hadn't experienced since I had moved out and gotten my own comforter. So this has been in the back of my mind ever since but I wasn't sure if I wanted to dish out that kind of money for a blanket and also deal with the hassle of dry cleaning it. Also by purchasing a down blanket we'd be supporting an industry in which the down feathers from geese are taken from them and that's not something we personally wanted to support. So for all those reason we started looking into down alternative. The first thing that made me question these products was the price, they seem TOO cheap. I was raised with the mantra, "you get what you pay for" and with that in mind I was quite weary when looking at these products. I always make sure to compare many different products and read through the reviews, both good and bad before I buy something. I decided to take a chance on this particular one as it seemed to be the highest rated by customers and I liked what I saw in the images provided by said customer. If anything, the price was low enough that I wasn't too worried if I didn't end up liking it. Now I wasn't actually home when it arrived but my girlfriend confirmed that it was very flat right out of the package, as was expected. By the time I got home 2-3 hours later it appeared to be fully fluffed. The material it is made of is very soft and comfortable on your skin and I was pleasantly surprised with the thickness/fluffyness. It is a fairly light blanket, similar to a down blanket I suppose in that regard. So far I have only slept with it one night but it did a great job of keeping me warm. I live in Wisconsin and the temperatures this week have been ranging from -10 over night to single digits during the day. I had been using 2 blankets prior to getting this one and sometimes I would still wake up in the night feeling cold. But so far with this blanket alone I have stayed warm which again was a pleasant surprise. I do have to say that this doesn't remind me a whole lot of my down blanket and I think that may have to do with the material used in the shell. And you're not going to be 100% able to recreate a down blanket not using down. So if you are looking for something that feels exactly like down and won't be satisfied otherwise, this might not be for you. However, if you are looking for a good quality, warm, fluffy and affordable priced blanket that will give you that "cloud" like feeling, I think you would be really happy with this blanket. Again this is my opinion from using it for one night, I can not comment on the durability or longevity of this blanket, but I am hoping that it holds up over time. **also our cats immediately fell in love with it, it is their new favorite spot to nap.
