Sustainable fashion, it turns out, is not a new concept at all. It is a way of life that endures in heritage craft.
This dress is an intricate piece of wearable art designed by ARTICLE22 and hand crafted by women in Laos. Each is handmade from cotton dyed naturally with indigo and a wax relief technique called batik. The pieces are masterfully patched together with hand embroidered cotton and playful market fabric available in two colors.
