DIESELSITE Coolant Filter Install Kit – Ford 7.3L Powerstroke

Protect Your Cooling System – Extend Water Pump & Radiator Life

NOTE: If you have a 1994–1995 model, see the FAQ section below for special installation considerations.

Coolant filtration is a proven solution in the heavy-duty diesel world — and it's just as critical for your 7.3L Powerstroke. Many diesel engines, including the 7.3L, are cast with sand, and not all of it is removed during manufacturing. Over time, this leftover sand leaches into the cooling system and causes premature wear to water pumps, hoses, and radiators.

The DIESELSITE Coolant Filter Kit captures abrasive materials like casting sand and precipitated SCAs (Supplemental Coolant Additives), helping prevent internal wear and extending the life of your water pump, radiator, oil cooler, and coolant lines.

Key Benefits:

  • Removes abrasive particles like sand and crystallized SCAs

  • Protects water pumps, hoses, radiators, and oil coolers

  • Prevents premature cooling system failure

  • Bypass-style filter — no flow restriction or overheating risk

  • Spin-on filter design for quick, easy replacement

  • Includes all fittings, hose, and stainless clamps

  • Virtually eliminates wear from coolant contaminants

🔧 How It Works:

This is a bypass-style system that filters a small amount of coolant at a time.
It’s routed in parallel with the factory cooling system, so it doesn’t affect coolant flow or cooling efficiency.
As the filter removes debris on each pass, your system is gradually cleaned of harmful particles.

🛠️ Installation & Maintenance:

  • Installs easily with basic tools

  • Includes custom instructions for minimal fluid loss

  • Initial Filter Change Schedule:

    • Replace every 3 months for the first 9 months

    • Then, replace once per year

  • You’ll know the filter is due when coolant flow into the overflow tank slows or stops

🧰 Kit Includes:

  • DIESELSITE coolant filter mount

  • High-quality hoses and stainless steel clamps

  • Brass fittings

  • Spin-on filter

  • Detailed installation instructions

⚠️ Special Note for 1994–1995 Trucks:

Some early 7.3L Powerstrokes came with IDI-style cooling systems (radiator cap on the radiator instead of the overflow tank). If your truck has this setup, you can still use this kit, but you’ll need to reroute the filter return line.

✅ You’ll need a 5/8" x 3/8" x 5/8" heater hose tee to connect the return line to the heater hose going to the top of the water pump.
We can supply this tee from our store — just ask!

💬 FAQs

Q: Will this restrict coolant flow or cause overheating?
A: No. The system is routed in parallel with the stock coolant path. Only a small amount is diverted through the filter, and the filter itself acts as a heat exchanger.

Q: What happens if the filter plugs up?
A: The system reverts to normal coolant flow. You simply lose filtration until the filter is replaced — no damage or flow restriction occurs.

Q: How do I know when to change the filter?
A: Watch the coolant return line into the expansion tank. If flow slows or stops, it’s time to change the filter.

Q: How much coolant will I lose during installation?
A: Very little. Our instructions walk you through how to avoid draining the system during install.

📸 Real-World Results:

  • Photo 1: Filter removed after 3 months after a full coolant flush — filled with sand and sediment.

  • Photo 2: 7.3L oil cooler clogged with debris — proof these particles wreak havoc on internal components.

🔩 Don’t wait for failure — protect your Powerstroke now.

Whether you’ve already replaced a water pump or are trying to make your current one last, it’s never too late to install a coolant filter. Give your cooling system the defense it needs with a proven, affordable solution.

Overall AMAZING moniter for the price
It dose everything it said it did without any downsides thus far. I will say having it grouped with all the other monitors in the listing kinda skews the reviews for all the monitors and the HDR 400 certification not being a real HDR value is a bit scummy for marketing however over all its a amazing monitor. virtually 0 input lantancy as far as i can tell and its more than bright enough for me. Its color calibration is a bit off by default but can be easily fixed by switching to the cool setting. I was expecting it to come with a display port cable but it only came with a HDMI cable. I would have liked to see a display port cable but i understand why its a HDMI cable. It was very easy to setup and easy to use as its just the stand, the monitor, and the HDMI and power cords. The monitor stand is nice but its obviously where Koorui cheaped out however for a monitor of this price you cant beat it.

Excellent Budget Gaming Monitor
I’m very impressed with this monitor for the price. The 200Hz refresh rate makes gameplay feel incredibly smooth, especially in fast-paced games. The picture quality is sharp, colors look good, and the screen size is perfect for both gaming and everyday use.

Better off saving your money for a quality brand like Acer or Samsung
If you were looking for a decent gaming monitor with a good refresh rate, you better keep looking. Honestly, I wanted to really like this thing. For $120, it ticked off a lot of great features for me: at least 120Hz refresh rate, 1080p quality, and some nifty reticule marks for FPS gamers like myself. And for a year I had no problems with it until a few days ago. The ability to control input's, power, and toggle the reticule features all lie on one singular button behind the monitor. Here lie's the issue; if that power button starts messing up, there is no way to control or turn on/off the monitor. This is exactly what happened on my unit; the power button/control went out and the monitor was basically useless. I contacted Koorui support via email, and all I got was a vague "Did you confirm the button is really broken" response. Replied back that I did, and the manufacturer has ghosted me. Basically, I HIGHLY advise you just save up a few $80 or $100 dollars and get a decent entry level gaming monitor. By going cheap with this one, you will just end up probably wearing out the power/control button and be left with an expensive paperweight. If you are DIY repair savvy, I am sure that replacing the power/control button probably is not that big of a deal. In which case, go right ahead as it is a decent monitor for the price. But with that said, having this thing break leaves you with basically no options to get it fixed and good luck trying to get a hold of Koorui for support. Sadly, this is a growing trend on buying electronic's here on amazon from smaller brand sellers. *Update* So as of writing this review, I got Koorui to reach out to me. They would agree to replace the monitor for free, but I would have to front the shipping costs. They have their operations out in California, so if you live on the east coast then expect to pay around $40-50 for shipping for the monitor all the way out there (nearly half the monitor's value). I told Koorui that this just did not make any financial sense and they offered to refund me 50% of the monitor's value. However, they have yet to specify how they will send the refund, so I am unsure of whether I will see my partial refund when this is all said and done. So know that if you do proceed to get this monitor and need to return it past the 30 day return window covered by Amazon. TLDR: just save up an extra $50-100 for a big brand gaming monitor and save yourself the headache of dealing with all of this.
