- Since prehistoric times, Jade was used in many parts of the world for arms and tools because of its exceptional toughness. For over 2,000 years, Jade had religious significance in China and mystic figures and other symbols were carved from it. In the pre-Columbian period, the Mayas, Aztecs and Olmecs of Central America honored and esteemed Jade more highly than gold.
- But only in 1863 was it discovered that Jade is actually not a single mineral. What was traditionally called Jade is in fact two separate and distinct minerals: Jadite and Nephrite. Jade is a term applied to two different metamorphic rocks containing different silicate minerals. Jadeite is often called “hard Jade,” and Nephrite is “soft Jade.” The two varieties of Jade even have different crystal structures. While Jadeite's structure is an arrangement of grainy crystals, Nephrite is made up of fibrous crystals that interlock in a matted texture. These densely packed and interwoven fibers are extremely resistant to fracturing. So while Jadeite is the denser and harder type of Jade, Nephrite is actually the tougher of the two. All of the traditional ancient Chinese Jade is Nephrite, since there are large deposits of Nephrite in China, but no Jadeite.
- Jadeite first came to China from Burma in the 18th century. Before the introduction of Jadeite, the Chinese tended to value translucent white Nephrite. But the Jadeite from Burma came in a wider range of colors, including green, lavender, yellow, black and white. The rarest and most valuable Jadeite is the emerald green Imperial Jade, colored by traces of chromium. It has color and transparency rivaling fine Emerald, though Imperial Jade is slightly more yellow in tone. In fact the revered Emerald Buddha in Wat Phra Keow in Bangkok is believed to be composed of fine Jadeite, not Emerald. Although Jade is traditionally thought of as green, it is also found in white, blue, and lavender.
- New Zealand's Maoris began carving weapons and cult instruments from native Jade in early times, a tradition which has continued to the present day. In ancient Egypt, Jade was admired as the stone of love, inner peace, harmony and balance. As early as 3000 B.C. Jade was known in China as "Yu", the "Royal Gem". In the long history of the art and culture of the Chinese empire, Jade has always had a very special significance, comparable with that of gold and Diamonds in the West. Today, too, this gem is regarded as a symbol of the good, the beautiful and the precious. In folklore, Jade embodies the Confucian virtues of wisdom, justice, compassion, modesty and courage, yet it also symbolizes the female-erotic. Jade is also believed to be a lucky stone, and provides good health, prosperity. It is rumored that slipping a peace of Jade under one’s pillow can enhance dreams.

Like the scent
Scent: Stone
I use this scent daily and the wife likes it. So why change when we travel. I bought these travel bottles and plan to refill as needed.

Fresh Scent Body Wash w/ Great Value and Gentle Clean
Scent: Fig, Scent: Fig
I tried this travel size Harry's Fig body wash and it has a clean, fresh scent that feels balanced and not overpowering. The fig fragrance has a mix of cedar and a light citrus note that lasts without being too strong, which makes it easy to use every day. The formula creates a thick lather and cleans well without drying out my skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and comfortable instead of tight, so the effectiveness is solid for a gentle daily wash.
The travel bottles are a good size for flights and the 3.4 ounce design fits easily in a carry on or gym bag. The caps stay closed in a toiletry kit and the bottles are sturdy enough that they do not leak. The six pack is also a good value for money since each bottle lasts longer than expected and it is convenient having several ready for trips, the gym or work.
I also like that the formula is free of sulfates, parabens and dyes, which makes it a good option for sensitive skin. Overall it is a fresh smelling, effective and well priced body wash that works well for travel, the gym or daily use.

Perfect Travel Size Body Wash That Still Smells High-End
Scent: Redwood
These ended up being extremely convenient for travel, gym bags, and even keeping an extra bottle in the car or at work. The TSA-approved size is probably the biggest selling point because you can throw them straight into a carry-on without worrying about transferring products into tiny containers yourself.
The Redwood scent smells really good too — clean, woodsy, and masculine without being overpowering. It has that slightly outdoorsy/cologne-style scent that feels more premium than a lot of basic men’s body washes. The scent lingers lightly after showering but isn’t too strong.
I also like that the formula doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or stripped afterward. The fact that it’s free from parabens, sulfates, and dyes is a nice bonus, especially if you have more sensitive skin.

Smells more cedar-y than figgy
Scent: Fig
I am very picky about fragrance, but this scent is one that made the mark for me. The primary notes are cedar with a little spiced orange -- I didn't think the fig was super prominent. Seems a little woodsy, perfect for either men or women. You get six small travel size bottles, perfect for travel. The body wash performed like a typical soap, good lather for washing up. Averaging moisturizing. I didn't notice that the scent was particularly long lasting. Overall, a great effective product, good value. Would definitely purchase again.

Perfect for on-the-go
Scent: Wildlands, Scent: Wildlands
Have been using Henry's for a long time, and I love the scent of this! The smell lasts long throughout my workday without leaving a weird film over my sensitive skin. Very effective at long-lasting fragrance and has a nice, sudsy texture when applied. This travel pack is a great value for money, allowing me to have my own fragrance and body wash without having to make an extra stop when I inevitably forget my soap at home while traveling! Would recommend anyone who travels to grab these, especially if you haven't already tried this brand.
