Introducing Britain's finest examples of brutalist architecture. Brutalist architecture is more popular now than it has ever been. Imposing and dramatic, with monolithic concrete exteriors, it forms an enduring part of our post-war urban landscape. This beautifully photographed book is an authoritative survey of the finest British examples from the very late 1950s to the 1970s, from leading architectural writer Elain Harwood, following on from her acclaimed books on art deco and mid-century architecture. It features iconic public buildings like London's National Theatre, imposing housing such as the Trellick Tower in West London and Park Hill in Sheffield, great educational institutions including the University of Sussex, and places of worship such as Liverpool's glorious Metropolitan Cathedral, along with some lesser-known buildings such as Arlington House on Margate's sea front. Headed up with an introduction that places British brutalism within the context of global events and contemporary world architecture, the huge range of buildings is arranged into Private Houses and Flats, Public Housing, Educational Buildings, Public Buildings, Shops, Markets and Town Centres, Culture and Sport, Places of Worship, Offices and Industry and Transport, and there is a chapter on the atmospheric brutalist sculptures and murals that dot our cities. If you're part of the increasingly large ranks of brutalism fans, or interested in late 20th-century architecture and society in general, Brutalist Britain is the book for you.

Bright idea
Burns bright. Lasts all night. Took more time to unwrap than it did to install

Looks good but but takes work to put it together.
Parts do not fit together well. Had to take a knife to trim top to make it fit. Plastic nuts and bolts. Light works well and stays lit for hours.

Looks Fantastic
Size: 1 Pack
Very easy to install, and looks very nice. It’s made from a durable composite material, not metal, but it’s built well. No one would know that it isn’t metal. On the pricier side for solar lamps, but you’re buying a quality product.

Good product for the price!
Size: 1 Pack, Size: 1 Pack
This light is not bad for being a solar powered product. I have it in the area that receives most of the days sunlight as this area gets full sun (that side of the house gets blasted). The light is on for about 6-7 hours. I am thinking of buying another one. Just note that the housing is plastic.... not super high quality, but it gets the job done for the price point.

More expensive and worth it
Color: Bright White Accent Light
Walk away from those 6 for $49. solar lights and buy some of these. They will cost more in the short run but will save you money in the long run. They are very well made of sturdy aluminum from the light head down to the stake. They have glass crystalline lenses. They look good on the path-modern and somewhat understated. These come in 2 varieties-a 40 lumen and a 60 lumen. I strongly recommend the 60 lumen variety. Aside from being brighter, they have a better solar cell and battery. My lights are still on at 6AM after a prior sunny day which is a new experience for me. They also have external, easily accessible on/off and light color (amber vs bright white) toggle switches. I find this feature unique and a game changer. GamaSonic has really listened to customers and created a noticeably better solar light that checks all of the boxes. I strongly endorse this solar light.
