We decided it was time to design some crossbar mounting brackets that merged the typical artificial rain-gutter bracket and the crossbar tower into a simple, stout product. Made from 11-gauge stainless steel, these brackets use your choice of u-bolts or billet aluminum clamps to mount Yakima crossbars just above the roof of the pop-top, keeping your loads as low as possible. This attachment system creates a simple, affordable, low-profile and tidy look compared to some other bulkier alternatives. If you're like most of us and you typically leave your roof rack in place all the time, this system is worth your consideration.
Fits: All 1980-91 Westfalia Pop-top Vanagon
Options: Select your bar clamp style (u-bolt or billet clamp) and the number of cross bars you desire. Sold in one, two, or three pair bundles.
Kit details: Coated in a textured black powder coat, each pair of stainless brackets includes stainless hardware to mount them to your fiberglass pop-top. The top of the main bracket sits 1.5" from the top of your van. 78" Yakima Crossbars, and mounting U-bolts or billet clamps complete the offering. To mount square Thule bars, you'll need to get your own appropriately sized square U-bolts.
