Deep crimson purple in colour, a cascade of wild blackberries, ripe blueberries and Black Forest cake aromas are framed by hints of Indian spices. The palate is rich and ripe, with layers of blackberries and Christmas cake, enveloped in soft, juicy, ripe tannins.

Late winter rains replenished the soils after an initially dry start to the season. The rains cleared during the flowering period in spring allowing our Shiraz vines to set good crops. The weather during the ripening period of late summer into autumn was warm and dry, allowing excellent flavour and tannin accumulation in our Shiraz grapes.

Yalumba's belief is that one good wine leads to another, which the Y Series was created with that in mind. This series represents a collection of iconic classics and exciting new varietals. Each authentically crafted with fruit from South Australia's most celebrated wine regions.

Food Pairing: This wine drinks perfectly with red braised pork belly or falafel wraps with hummus, tomato, cucumber, and tabouli.
