Olivewood needs care when drying to avoid checking or honeycombing, especially with thicker material. Pre-boring is recommended when nailing. Moderate blunting effect to cutting tools. Olivewood is used for sculpture and carving work, veneer, decorative turnings, inlay, and high end custom furniture.
