Blast is a relatively compact blade, but the scooped tip gives you a distinct bite at the start of the stroke. That makes it easy to load the blade and drive it through the water without feeling “grabby”.

The blade shape is designed to stay closer to the kayak for longer through the power phase, helping you keep a straight line and a steady cadence in forward paddling.

The shaft is stiff for direct contact and efficient power transfer. It’s round with a ribbed texture, giving a secure grip even with wet hands or gloves. The stepless split lets you adjust over a 10 cm range, so the same paddle can work well in a narrow performance kayak as well as a wider touring boat.

Blast is built in Toray 12k carbon fibre weave — strong, clean-looking, and reassuringly stiff on the water.
