Besonderheiten: Der Balvenie 17 Jahre The Week of Peat ist ein Single Malt Whisky aus der Balvenie Distillery in der schottischen Speyside. Für diese Abfüllung wird getorftes Malz verwendet, wobei der Torf aus der Region stammt. Die Reifung erfolgt in Fässern aus amerikanischer Weisseiche und der Whisky hat einen Alkoholgehalt von 49,4 % vol. Es handelt sich um eine Originalabfüllung, die in einem ansprechenden Tube präsentiert wird.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: In der Nase zeigen sich süsser Torfrauch und florale Honignoten, die sich mit geröstetem Malz und buttrigem Fudge vermischen.
  • Gaumen: Ein grosszügiges Gleichgewicht von Vanille und Eichenholzcharme begrüsst den Weg für mehr kräftigen Rauch. Zudem bleibt er süss mit seidigem Butterscotch und Backgewürzen.
  • Abgang: Im Abgang zeigen sich der Torfrauch verweilt mit zart blumigem Malz, pochierten Früchten, cremiger, eichiger Vanille und einem Hauch Zimt.

Destillerie/Abfüller: Die Balvenie Distillery wurde 1892 von William Grant gegründet und befindet sich in Dufftown, Schottland. Bekannt für ihre traditionellen Herstellungsmethoden, destilliert die Distillerie jährlich eine Woche lang mit getorfter Gerste aus der Region Tomintoul. Diese Methode stellt sicher, dass der Balvenie 17 Jahre The Week of Peat einen besonderen Charakter erhält, der auf den verwendeten Torf und die sorgfältige Reifung zurückzuführen ist.

Amazing value for this stand. I needed a stand with more degrees of freedom than the original one that came with my monitor, and this stand (which was inexpensive relative to the cost of the monitor) was a great purchase. The base of the stand is a little bulky/high, and the soft material on the bottom of it can rub off very easily if you let the stand catch the back edge of your desk. Otherwise though, the stand is extremely easy to install, and it provides far more degrees of freedom for rotation and translation than the original stand for my monitor. Now my monitor is sitting at a comfortable viewing angle closer to my desk tilted slightly upwards toward me. Just keep in mind that you have to tighten down the height and tilt adjustments (the things that would be affected by gravity). So, if you want to adjust those frequently, this stand might not be a great fit for you. That said, it does provide a hidden but easy-to-access spot to store the keys needed to loosen it up to make those adjustments. So, if you need to make those adjustments, you'll always have quick access to the necessary tools. Highly recommended for its price in particular.

A Solid Monitor Stand

This is an extremely sturdy monitor stand. Easily assembled in less than 20 minutes. Instructions were simple. The hex tools came with the stand, but you just need a Nr 2 Phillips Screwdriver for the bolts mounting the VESA plate to the monitor. Take note that this stand has a heavy base to hold larger/heavier monitors up to 22 lbs, but does not take a lot of space. I chose this variant so that it could handle my heavy 24-inch Planar monitor. The included cable management clip was a nice touch. Rotation and tilt feature moves easily and has decent range. I'm very happy with my purchase and it was available for overnight shipment in my region.

The adjustments are basic but effective—you can raise or lower both monitors together on the central pole and tilt or swivel them individually to get the angles just right. If you extend the arms all the way out toward you, the whole unit can get top-heavy and want to tip forward.
