Glasgow 1770 - Peated - Rich & Smoky - Virgin Oak, PX Sherry Cask Finish - 700ml ohne GP

Besonderheiten: Der Glasgow 1770 Peated Whisky wird in der Glasgow Distillery Company produziert, die 2014 gegründet wurde und die erste Single-Malt-Brennerei in Glasgow seit 1902 ist. Diese Abfüllung hat einen Alkoholgehalt von 46% und ist nicht kühlfiltriert. Der Whisky wird aus britischer, auf 50 PPM getorfter Gerste hergestellt und reift in Virgin-Oak-Fässern. Anschliessend erhält er ein Finish in Pedro-Ximénez-Sherry-Hogsheads für einen Zeitraum von acht bis zwölf Monaten.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: Der Duft ist geprägt von süssem Rauch und Karamellbonbons mit Vanille, getrockneten dunklen Früchten und würzigem schwarzem Pfeffer sowie einem Hauch flambierter Orangen.
  • Gaumen: Am Gaumen entfalten sich Tabakblätter, dunkles Karamell und Kakao. Im Hintergrund zeigt sich süsser Torfrauch, erdige Untertöne und leichte Kräuternoten.
  • Abgang: Der Abgang ist lang und weich mit gesalzenem Karamell, Lakritze und anhaltend würzigen Noten.

Destillerie/Abfüller: Die Glasgow Distillery Company nutzt traditionelles Handwerk für die Herstellung ihres Whiskys, einschliesslich der Destillation in Kupferbrennblasen. Die geräucherte Gerste wird über Highland-Torf gedarrt, was zur ausgeprägten Rauchigkeit des Produkts beiträgt. Die Reifung erfolgt in 200-Liter-Virgin-American-White-Oak-Fässern und das anschliessende Finish in 250-Liter-Pedro-Ximénez-Sherry-Hogsheads verstärkt die Komplexität der Aromen.

An excellent button down that fits well, looks great, and feels as good as it looks.

From the office to dinner and the to church on Sunday, this is a perfect shirt for any situation. It even looks great worn open over a t-shirt with a pair of jeans and boots or tennis shoes. Who said a nice button down needs slacks and dress shoes? It is a cotton?polyester blend so it is lighter weight than a standard cotton oxford. It also isn't as crisp or harsh and it doesn't wrinkle nearly as bad either. The sleeves are a standard long sleeve but they cuff well. The shirt looks great when cuffed too so that helps when it's hot and humid. There isn't really any stretch to this shirt but that isn't a problem becuase it is perfectly true to size. Just follow the size chart and fit is near guaranteed. For only 20 bucks, basically, (22 to be exact), this is a great choice for any situation when a nicer than completely casual look is desired.

I got this one for my husband too, and it is a really nice shirt. It has that classic Oxford look that works for a lot of situations, whether he is wearing it for work, dinner, church, or just trying to look a little more put together.
