Der Hobart HLU-32 Universalreiniger wird mit 2,0–3,0 g/l dosiert (bei Wasserhärte bis 7 °dH) und sollte ausschließlich über ein Dosiergerät verwendet werden. Für optimale Spülergebnisse empfiehlt sich die Kombination mit dem Hobart Klarspüler HLU-3000. Nicht geeignet für Aluminium oder Leichtmetalllegierungen. Für Wasser über 3 °dH wird der Einsatz einer Enthärtungs- oder Entmineralisierungsanlage empfohlen.
