Gegen den Willen seines Vaters entschließt sich Manfred, in den Rennsport einzusteigen. Mit seinem stromlinienförmigen Mercedes gelingt ihm 1932 der Durchbruch, und er wird zu einem gefeierten Helden des Autosports. Noch hat er kein Interesse an der Politik, und noch sieht er in den Nationalsozialisten nur neue Förderer für seine große Leidenschaft. Erst der gewalttätige Zusammenstoß mit einigen SS-Männern und die Verhaftung der prominenten Frau von Stengel öffnen Manfred die Augen. Er verhilft dem Journalisten Levi zur Flucht und kehrt selbst dem Dritten Reich den Rücken.Am Luganer See findet er Aufnahme bei Rudi Caracciola, der ebenfalls als Rennfahrer lange Jahre äußerst erfolgreich war. Doch als seine Mutter ihn an die Verpflichtung gegenüber der Familie erinnert, kehrt Manfred während des 2. Weltkriegs zurück nach Deutschland - und findet die Männer, die die Verantwortung für den Krieg tragen, in seiner eigenen Verwandtschaft:
So zum Beispiel sein Onkel Walter, der als Generalfeldmarschall an den Planungen der Wehrmacht beteiligt ist. Langsam erkennt Manfred die Bedeutung des Kampfes, den sein langjähriger Techniker und Freund Theo Hempel gegen die Nazis führt. Nach dem Ende des Krieges will Manfred zusammen mit seiner Liebe Gisela ein neues Leben beginnen - und stellt entsetzt fest, dass die alten Seilschaften aus Vorkriegszeiten im westlichen Deutschland immer noch intakt sind. Selbst Levi, dem er unter der Nazi-Herrschaft das Leben gerettet hat, arbeitet jetzt als amerikanischer Presseoffizier für imperialistische Interessen. Als Manfred die Werte und Lebensweise der DDR öffentlich bewundert, wird er unter dem Vorwurf des Hochverrats verhaftet und wandert schließlich in die DDR aus. Doch all die Anfeindungen und Intrigen verkraftet Gisela nicht und begeht Selbstmord.

Comfortable, Breathable, and Stylish Polo

I’ve been very happy with this polo shirt. The fabric feels lightweight, soft, and stretchy, making it extremely comfortable to wear throughout the day. The mesh texture provides excellent breathability, and the moisture-wicking material does a great job of keeping you cool and dry in warm weather.
The quarter-zip collar gives the shirt a modern, sporty look that stands out from a traditional button polo. It also allows you to unzip it a bit for extra airflow when needed. The fit is true to size with a clean athletic cut that looks sharp without feeling too tight or restrictive.
The white color is slightly see-through in bright light, so that’s something to keep in mind. It’s not overly transparent, but it can be noticeable depending on what you wear underneath.
One of the things I like most is how versatile this shirt is. It works perfectly for golf, but it also looks great for casual outings, travel, or even business-casual settings. The stretchy material moves comfortably with your body and never feels stiff.
The overall quality is very good. The stitching is clean, the zipper feels sturdy, and the shirt has held up well after several washes. It has not shrunk, lost its shape, or shown any fading, which is always a good sign.
It also comes out of the wash looking smooth with very few wrinkles, so it’s easy to care for and convenient if you travel often.
For the price, this is an excellent value. It offers a great combination of comfort, performance, and style, and it feels like a much more expensive shirt. I would definitely buy more colors.

Deep black and crisp white, this collar really pops.

I love this shirt. The fabric is hard to describe, but it’s very comfortable, cool, and soft. If you’re looking for something highly breathable, this is it.
The quality is well made, and the zipper is great. I’m not worried about it splitting or the zipper coming off. It’s fantastic, very comfortable, and fits me really well, even though I’m over 6 feet tall. The value for the money is great.
I’ve already mentioned how soft it feels, and the appearance is great too. That white collar really pops against the crisp dark black. I know the picture doesn’t capture it well and looks a bit washed out, but in person the black is very black and the white is crisp white, exactly as shown in the listing photos.
